Each year we host a local high school field trip and they solve a mystery using our bench top NMRs. Our lab manager does a great job with them! Today we enjoyed having them in our department.

We have exciting news in the chemistry department! Drs. Daniel and Lisa Burden just published a paper in Analytical Chemistry and their publication even made the cover! So many of our students researched with the Burdens to make this publication. Read the entire article here: https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.analchem.3c02329
The article is published with open access, so you won't need to pay for reading it. Congratulations Burden lab!

After the stress-induced senior lab practical, we all headed over to get Boba tea! Great way to end our morning together. Thanks for putting it together, chem seniors. We love you! (Recent Wheaton grad, Zhenyn Han '23, also joined us. He was in town on fall break from grad school at UNC Chapel Hill. So great to spend time with Zhenyu!)

We welcomed prospective students interested in STEM over the weekend! We had so much fun giving them a couple of demonstrations. The students asked great questions, and we are excited to welcome some of them to the chem department next year!
