This was the final session - a panel discussion on academic freedom. The annual IAPST symposium has concluded. It was a good setting for the exchange of ideas and an opportunity to build relationships across a diverse group of colleagues.

Today is our doctoral psychology graduation ceremony. Just this past week we learned that at its meeting on April 15-18, 2026, the Commission on Accreditation (CoA) voted to grant our new Ph.D. program “accredited, on contingency” status with an initial date of accreditation of November 25, 2025.
I am so happy to celebrate with the Ph.D. students graduating, as well as the Psy.D. Students who are graduating (whose program has been accredited since 1998).
