June is Men’s Health Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about preventable health conditions and encouraging early detection and treatment of illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and depression.

Men’s Health Month also serves as an important reminder to break the stigma surrounding mental health and prioritize overall wellness through regular checkups, healthy habits, and open conversations about physical and emotional well-being.

The men of the Maywood–Wheaton (IL) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. encourage all brothers, fathers, sons, uncles, and friends to take charge of their health by scheduling appointments with their primary care physician and completing recommended screenings.

Brother Morris is a 2010 initiate of the Benton Harbor (MI) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and a graduate of Northwood University in Midland, Michigan. Professionally, he is a proven sales leader, coach, and culture advocate in the pharmaceutical industry.

Since joining the Maywood-Wheaton (IL) Alumni Chapter, Brother Morris has consistently supported our Civic Action initiatives, volunteering at food pantries, toy drives, and neighborhood beautification projects. He recently led a successful fundraising effort benefiting the Diamond Youth Foundation, our 501(c)(3) charitable arm dedicated to serving youth throughout the western suburbs of Chicago.

Happy Birthday, Brother Morris! We hope you enjoy your special day and celebrate in true Nupe fashion!

We concluded an outstanding 50th Anniversary Weekend in worship at Victory Cathedral Worship Center with our Brother, Smokie Norful.

We are truly grateful for 50 years of achievement, made possible through God’s grace and favor. As we reflect on our rich legacy, we are equally excited about the next 50 years and the continued impact of the Maywood–Wheaton (IL) Alumni Chapter.

Thanks to brother Norful for a great word, “I Am” and to Victory Cathedral Worship Center family for their hospitality.

We are forever grateful to the Charter Brothers who planted the seed that has grown into one of the greatest Chapters in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Their vision, sacrifice, and commitment laid the foundation for 50 years of achievement, brotherhood, and service. Happy 50th Kappaversary to the Maywood–Wheaton (IL) Alumni Chapter!

It was truly a pleasure chatting with Maywood–Wheaton (IL) Alumni Chapter Charter Brothers Donald Bland (Beta Nu, 1961), and Leroy Sturgis (Beta Chi, 1963).

Brother Bland and Brother Sturgis represent the rich legacy, wisdom, and enduring spirit upon which our Chapter was built. As Charter Brothers of the Maywood–Wheaton (IL) Alumni Chapter, their commitment to the Bond and dedication to Achievement in Every Field of Human Endeavor continue to inspire generations of Nupes.

We are grateful for the opportunity to hear their stories, reflect on our Chapter’s history, and celebrate the strong foundation they helped establish nearly 50 years ago. Their presence is a reminder that our legacy is strengthened through fellowship, mentorship, and honoring those who paved the way.
