A few days behind, but I couldn’t let this one go without sharing! 🥹❤️

Connor, one of my previous daycare kiddos, started his Senior Year on Wednesday, and before the new school year even began, he stopped by with flowers and candy for me! 💐🍫

Connor has come to see me every summer since he left daycare, and now I can hardly believe he’s a SENIOR! 🥹 He works close by and will even stop in on his lunch to say hi. Those little visits mean more to me than he probably realizes!

Being a daycare provider for so many years, one of the greatest gifts is getting to watch these little ones grow up. They may leave my daycare, but they never really leave my heart. ❤️

Have a wonderful Senior Year, Connor! I can’t wait to watch you walk across that stage this year! 🎓 I’m so proud of the young man you’ve become! ❤️

1st Day of School for the Big Kids today!!!

As my littles go off to school next week, I think about all children I had watched from babies and are now in big school including the ones that enter their senior year this year! I will also be missing one of my littles that would have come back after summer break this year, but is moving on to other places this year.

Saying goodbye to the kids we’ve watched grow from infants is one of the hardest parts of being a childcare worker.

People don’t often talk about how deep our bonds are with these children or how much we truly love and care for them as if they were our own. I’ll be honest, this is the part of the journey I struggle with the most. My heart aches, but I know they’ll go on to do amazing things.

To the parents: thank you for trusting us with your babies and allowing us to be part of your community. It’s been a privilege to see them learn, laugh, play, and grow.

We’ll never forget them.🥺💛

CLOSED Thursday, June 25, 2026

We have been without power since last night and, unfortunately, it has not yet been restored. Due to the outage and the uncertainty of when service will be be restored, Autumn’s Precious Little One’s will be closed today.

Indiana licensing regulations require childcare programs to close if the power goes out and is not expected to be restored within two hours. Without electricity and running water, I am unable to safely operate, meet sanitation requirements, or meet state licensing requirements for the daycare facility.
I apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. I will keep everyone updated if I receive any information regarding power restoration.

Some of our caterpillars have moved into the pupation stage of their transformation, forming a chrysalis as they prepare to become butterflies! 🦋

A chrysalis is different from a cocoon. Butterflies form a chrysalis, which is a hard outer shell around the pupa. Moths, on the other hand, spin a silk covering around themselves called a cocoon. It has been so exciting watching each stage of their life cycle!

Some of the kids chose to hold the praying mantis today! They were so tiny and fascinating to watch. The children loved getting to see the baby mantis nymphs up close and learning about them before we release them into nature. What an exciting hands-on learning experience! 🦗💚
