Lots of action tonight in WR Sports. Boys’ Soccer 1-0 over Lakewood. Girls’ Flag Football won first game in school history. Softball battled but fell just short. And Noah Weil won 4A golf tourney. Keep battling WR.

Farmer Nation! This is a follow-up to my previous message.

Wheat Ridge is going to work extremely hard this year to re-engage our Alumni because we NEED your help to revitalize The Farm.

We started with the Alumni event at the end of July, but now we are turning our attention to honoring and recognizing as many state championship teams as possible, which includes Marching Band by inviting as many teams back to as many of our events and athletic contests as possible this year.

We will start with Homecoming! We want as many Alumni to come back home to the Homecoming football game on Friday, September 25th at 7pm at Trailblazer Stadium. At this event, we are going to recognize ALL 7 state championship football teams and possibly individual state championship athletes and Marching Band teams.

But it doesn’t stop there, we want to bring championship teams back to other contests, too: softball, boys’ and girls’ basketball, boys’ and girls’ soccer, volleyball, wrestling, baseball, track and field, cross country, tennis, golf, cheer, poms, swim and dive. It doesn’t matter, we want to honor you.

Please spread the word. When we have more specific dates, we will advertise those dates and events. If you or someone you know who isn’t on Facebook can email me, we can get the ball rolling. [email protected]
