I finished up these knives a couple of days ago. Smaller one is a simple paring knife for my wife. Larger one is a san-mai outdoors knife. Paring knife is made from w1, san mai is w1 in a wrought iron jacket.

SO!! Here are some pictures of one of the many knives I have been working on over the summer. This one is spoken for, but I'd love to make more like it! This is a pattern welded outdoors knife, with a spine of wrought iron and high carbon steel twisted into a star pattern, and a cutting edge of 1084 and 15n20 (two very similar high carbon steels). The handle is Sonoran Desert Ironwood. Enjoy!

I'll be offering intro to blacksmithing classes and intro to knife making classes. The first two will be June 13th, 14th and 15th. The second will be June 27th, 28th and 29th. Friday will be from 4-8, and then saturday and sunday will be from 8-5 with an hour in the middle for lunch. Cost is $275 and includes materials and tools.
