We are excited to announce back to school is almost here! We cannot wait to see all our returning children and families and meet all our new children joining our preschool family.
Below you will find what you need to know for the first day of school. As always if you have any questions feel free to text Miss Karen at 508-942-6857.
First day of school:
Thursday September 10th
Where to go:
Enter the parking lot off Ralph Talbot. There is a long driveway between the church and yellow house that will bring you to back of church. Enter building through the glass back door next to the garden area. Parents may come into the foyer area with the children however the teachers will take the children into the classroom from the foyer. This helps with transition for both parents and children.
Drop off time:
9:00
Pick up times:
Half day 11:45
Full day 2:30
*Note: earlier pick up options available upon request to help with transition.
What to bring:
*Please send your child in with a full sized backpack. We understand the mini backpacks are adorable however they don’t fit school projects being sent home very well.
*insulated water bottles labeled may be sent in.
* Change of clothes labeled
Even if your child is fully potty trained there is always potential for accidents in a fun filled atmosphere and in addition preschool can sometimes get messy.
*Updated physical and immunization records are REQUIRED for the first day of school. Please make sure if you haven’t sent one in yet that one is in child’s backpack on their first day.
*First Tuition payment and curriculum/materials fee if not yet paid. Please place payment in envelope with your child’s name and place in backpack.
* Please send your child in with baby wipes, non toxic multi surface cleaner and hand/pump soap. This will help start the school year off fighting the spread of germs throughout school year.
For half day children:
* Please send child in with snack. There will be special days where snack will be provided however, from past experience not all our children have liked school provided snack. We ask these snacks are nut free unless otherwise discussed.
For full day children:
* Please send child in with lunch box labeled and a drink. At this time until further notice lunches need to be nut free. Please check labels. IF there no allergies, director will notify you that it is okay to add nuts into lunches. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
What to expect:
The first day of school is a range of different emotions for both parents and children. Parent’s emotions can oftentimes be passed on to the children as well when they are not sure of how they should be feeling. Excitement, nerves, sadness and fear can all be a part of this experience. Please be aware that although not all children cry at drop off, it is normal for your child to cry at drop off. It is part of the separation process that happens. Remember that although it won’t take long for them to realize we are one big happy preschool family, we are strangers to your child on the first day. We want you to know that we will do our best to love your children through the tears and help them through the day however if your child cannot settle down within a certain time period we will reach out to you to give you the option to pick them up. We do not want their first experience at school to be traumatic for them or others.
We are very excited to have our returning children/families back with us but also to gain some more additions to our amazing preschool family. We thank each one of you for entrusting your little ones with us and We look forward to many fun filled memories with all of you! God bless you all!
Other important information:
*Please label everything with your child’s name.
*Your child will be sent home with a folder on their first day. Please bring this folder to school everyday. Important notices and school work will be sent home in this folder and all tuition payments may be placed in an envelope with your child’s name on it and placed in this folder as well.
School year calendars and parent handbook will be sent home first day. Please note: we go by Weymouth Public Schools for school closures and early release (professional development days).
Let the countdown begin….
