Strength Training For Golfers.
Over the years many of our clients have been golfers. Did they come to us and hire us because they were golfers? No, they. came looking to improve their fitness for one reason or another.
However, it has become very common to have them say to us that they are noticing their golf game improving after getting started with a fitness program. It’s usually things like “I’m hitting the ball farther.” “My back doesn’t hurt anymore after playing 18 holes.” And, “I just feel more flexible when I swing.”
We’ve always looked at fitness from the standpoint of improving quality of life by helping you continue to do the things you enjoy, like golfing. But, for many people they enjoy golf, but don’t realize that their fitness can help them enjoy it more.
Here is how fitness can impact your golf game.
• Improve the ability to separate the upper and lower body, resulting in a better swing and prevention of low back pain.
• Increased core strength.
• Increased shoulder and hip flexibility and mobility.
• Increased glute strength.
• Decrease and prevent back pain.
• Decrease and prevent elbow pain.
Whether you are a highly competitive golfer, or just enjoy a round on the weekend, committing to a regular fitness routine a couple days per week will improve your game and keep you golfing for many years to come.
