As a Proud Partner of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Solid Foundations Academy is incredibly excited to support the mission behind Reading Champions, an amazing literacy initiative created through the partnership of the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation and U. S. Steel.
The idea is simple but powerful: encourage children to read for 20 minutes a day—the length of one hockey period! 🏒📖
And those minutes add up! Reading Champions has already inspired students across the Pittsburgh region to log more than 1.8 MILLION minutes of reading!
At Solid Foundations Academy, literacy has always been a cornerstone of what we do. We know that learning to read isn't simply about recognizing words on a page. Reading builds vocabulary, confidence, imagination, comprehension, critical thinking, and a FOUNDATION for SUCCESS!

Solid Foundations Academy is excited to offer fun, engaging extracurricular classes for children ages 2.5-6. You do NOT have to be a Solid Foundations Academy student to participate!

Our Wexford and Hampton locations will feature a different class every day, giving children the opportunity to learn new skills, discover new interests, and have FUN!

Where stories come to life in the kitchen! Children combine early literacy with hands-on cooking while building confidence, independence, creativity, and real-life skills.

Get moving while learning the fundamentals of soccer! Children develop coordination, teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship through age-appropriate activities and games.

💃 🕺Ready, Set, Dance!
Move, groove, and have fun! Children explore music and movement while developing coordination, balance, confidence, and self-expression.
