For the 2019-2020 school year, First Steps will offer a 5-Year old Transitions Class. This class will be for children who have a
late birthday and just miss the cut off for Kindergarten, as well as children who just may need one more year before starting a more formal Kindergarten setting. If your child’s birthdate prevents him/her from entering public Kindergarten this year, rather than having them repeat a 4-year old class, please consider our 5-Year Transition Class. We will follow a 5-Year old program, yet allow them to progress at a more relaxed pace than traditional Kindergarten. This will be a small class (10) so that there will be ample opportunities for one on one guidance, as well as teacher directed group instruction. We will strive to teach in a variety of learning styles so that each child learns in the way that is most beneficial to that
individual child.

School will be closed Tomorrow Tuesday the 29th!

Would you like the opportunity to do some Christmas shopping without your sweet children? We are offering a special service during the holidays for childcare on select Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 to 6:00 PM! We will do crafts, play, watch Christmas movies, eat pizza and just have fun while you take care of your errands. The cost is $25 per session (10% discount for 2 in a family). Payments must be made separately from regular tuition. Make checks payable to Diane Cox, or you may use cash or PayPal.
There will be a sign-up sheet at the welcome desk tomorrow.

Trunk or Treat!!
A free evening of trunk or treating, Hotdogs, games, a cupcake walk and a hayride!

We finished our 1st week at First Steps Mother’s Day Out and Preschool! I can’t say that no one cried, but I will say that no one cried All day, and everyone who cried was comforted (Even if they had to sit in Mrs. Diane’s lap all day!) Our Preschoolers learned while having fun and danced and sang with gusto.
More smiles than tears, so I count this as a win!! I’m so privileged to work with an amazing staff: Shirley Hinton, Kelly Mead, Kristen Smyth, Emily Roach, Taylor Coleman, Abby Elisabeth Blackmon, and Amanda Demick. I am excited about next week!!
