NEXT Elmore County 4-H Homeschool Club is COMPOSTING! October 14th!

Our October club meeting is all about “Compost in a Bottle!” We’ll learn how composting works and create our own compost bottle!

First archery practice is officially in the books!

We are so excited about this year’s team they’re already starting off strong! Keep up the great work, stay focused, and most importantly, keep practicing!

We’re especially thankful for the cooler weather and our amazing facility that gives our archers a great place to practice and grow.

Here’s to a fantastic season ahead! Keep aiming high, team!

Saturday was the Central Region 4-H Chick Chain Auction & Show, and we are so proud of all the youth who participated! We had youth from Autauga, Bibb, Chilton and Elmore represented. These 4-H’ers have spent months raising and caring for their birds, keeping records, and preparing for show day. Their hard work truly showed!

Elmore County was proudly represented by Kimber Morse and Winsley Woods, and both young ladies brought home some amazing honors!

Elmore County Awards:

County Showmanship:
Winsley 1st Place
Kimber — 2nd Place

County Champion:
Winsley -Grand Champion
Kimber -Reserve Champion

Overall Record Book Awards:
• Junior: Kimber — Reserve Champion
• Senior: Winsley — Champion

Overall Central Region Chick Chain Awards:
• Winsley Woods — Showmanship Grand Champion
• Winsley Woods — OVERALL GRAND CHAMPION!

We are incredibly proud of Kimber and Winsley and all they accomplished! They represented Elmore County 4-H so well, and it was exciting to see their months of hard work recognized.

Congratulations, ladies! Mrs. Courtney and Elmore County 4-H are SO proud of you both!!

BIG thank you to our Master Gardener Alicia and her daughter Maxine our very own 4-Her who came to help prepare and serve food and support all the 4-Hers.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible for all the youth!

Yesterday Mrs Courtney finished her first month with all of Wetumpka Elementary School 4th Grade Classes! Congratulations to our 4-H Club Officers! 🍀💛🖤 We are excited to watch these young leaders Learn, Lead, Serve, and Grow this year!

Calling all Elmore County 4-H youth!

We need 6 MORE youth to participate in our Beef Cook-Off!

Here’s how it works:

Beef will be provided!
Beef can be picked up at the Elmore County Extension Office on Monday, October 12th, ONLY for youth who are registered!

Prepare your dish at home using the provided beef.

Bring your finished dish to the Extension Office on Monday, October 19th for judging!

You MUST email Mrs. Courtney to register by October 1st!

When you register you will receive the rules!

ONLY 6 SPOTS ARE LEFT!

We are excited to recognize the newly elected officers from the Blietz, Williams, Bordeaux, Johnson, and Medeiros 4th grade classes!

These students are stepping into leadership roles as President, Vice President, Secretary, and Reporter, and we can’t wait to watch them grow as leaders throughout the year!
