We are so proud of our HOSA students who competed at the International Leadership Conference 2026! Thank you to the Elmore County Board of Education for your support in helping us get this great group of kids to the competition and recognized for all their hard work!

Tomorrow's health care leaders are already making a difference. 🩺

Students from Wetumpka High School, Holtville High School and Stanhope Elmore High School were recognized by the Elmore County Board of Education Tuesday night for their state, and international honors in HOSA-Future Health Professionals.

Winston McBride, Jonathan Elmore, Peyton Veale, Allyson Overstreet, Scarlett Montes, Cesar Ramirez from WHS, Carly McGinty, Bailey Eberwein from HHS, and Grace Willougby from SEHS.

HOSA also received the ECTC Chapter Award from America’s Blood Center, which received received 2nd place at state, gold at internationals, and that was for the whole chapter for the blood drive they do.

Director of the Elmore County Technical Center Emilie Johnson praised the students for the countless hours they dedicate outside of school, noting they aren't earning grades or extra credit for these projects. Instead, they're driven by a passion for learning, leadership and serving others.

Congratulations to all of these students for representing Elmore County with excellence and dedication!

One of my favorite things about HOSA ILC is to see our students from small town Alabama getting the chance to meet people from all over the world! These are just a sampling of the interactions we had. These interactions & experiences will stay with these students forever!

Last day in Indy for HOSA ILC 2026 started with a nice walk along the canal where we made a stop at the 9/11 memorial and rang the doorbell to the local fire station where they were sweet enough to let Jonathan become a temporary fireman. We then spent a hot afternoon at the Indianapolis zoo. At the awards ceremony we had a few winners associated with our ECTC HOSA! Winston McBride placed top 10 in the World with his health career photography project. Also some former ECTC alum have continued HOSA at college. Karley Earl, now at Auburn University placed in the top 10 in Nutrition and Bella Robinson, now at the University of Alabama placed 3rd in Sports Medicine.

We met up with one of ECTC HOSA alums, Bella Robinson, who is competing with the University of Alabama HOSA! We enjoyed exploring downtown Indy, more pin trading, meeting some locals, and eating at the YardHouse. Our brains were done for when it came time for our ESCAPE room challenges!!!!!
