WSPC 2026 Volunteer Award Spotlight
Highcrest Elementary School

We are proud to recognize Katie Kratzer as the 2026 WSPC Volunteer Award recipient for Highcrest Elementary School!

Katie has been a dedicated and integral part of nearly every PTO event and program, consistently going above and beyond to support the Highcrest school community.

Three years ago, she founded the Sixth Grade Pasta Dinner fundraiser and has continued to organize and lead it with exceptional commitment, even during years when she did not have a sixth grader herself. Her attention to detail, organizational skills, and tireless work behind the scenes have made the event meaningful and memorable for students while successfully funding their end-of-year activities and easing the financial burden on families.

Through the dinner, students are given the opportunity to serve Highcrest families while learning professionalism, responsibility, and the value of service. Katie oversees every part of the event, from securing food donations and arranging decorations to guiding student participation and behavior.

Beyond the pasta dinner, Katie consistently contributes creative ideas, volunteers countless hours, and provides steady support across PTO events. Her commitment and dependability have made her an invaluable part of the Highcrest school community.

Thank you, Katie, and congratulations on this well-deserved recognition

We are proud to recognize Adriana Caro as the 2026 WSPC Volunteer Award recipient for Webb Elementary School!
Adriana has made a meaningful impact at Webb through her creativity, commitment, and willingness to step in wherever support is needed.

Last year, she brought the Talent Show back to Webb, giving students an opportunity to share their talents. This year, the event grew even larger and became an even more exciting experience for the school community.

Adriana has also gone above and beyond as a member of the Teacher Appreciation Committee, bringing creative and unique ideas that have helped make each event special for Webb staff. She has supported the Sixth Grade Committee with student gifts and yearbook planning and played a major role in the Wizards Event, Webb’s largest sixth-grade fundraiser.

Each year, Adriana also works with other families to create a fun and interactive trunk for students, an effort that is always memorable and has often earned first place.

Kaleena has been a dedicated leader within the Charles Wright school community. After stepping down as PTO President last year to become co-chair of the Sixth Grade Committee, she stepped up again when one of the new PTO presidents unexpectedly stepped down. She is now serving as interim co-president of the PTO while also continuing as co-chair of the Sixth Grade Committee.

She has also been a consistent presence for WSPC, reestablishing the Movie Night on the Green/Cove tradition for the entire Wethersfield school community. For the past two years, she brought forward the Field Day popsicle idea, provided popsicles students truly enjoyed, and across the elementary and middle schools.
Kaleena’s spirit can be recognized throughout the close-knit Charles Wright school community. Thank you, Kaleena, and congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!

💙💚 Together, We Roll Wethersfield! 🧑‍🦽🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️🛴

Bike & Roll to School Day was a great success today!

We saw amazing participation across schools—thank you to everyone who walked, biked, and rolled 🙌

A special thank you to all of our crossing guards at each school. The level of judgment and care it takes to keep our children safe every day does not go unnoticed.

We also want to thank The Wethersfield Transition Academy (WTA), for handcrafting and personalizing all 29 appreciation cards for the crossing guards —your work meant so much.
