This morning Charles Wright started the day off on a great note during their fall family breakfast. This was a great way for staff and families to enjoy breakfast together, share some literacy strategies, and start the day with a smile. Special thanks to Superintendent Wihbey, Assistant Superintendent Miller and Curriculum Director, Mrs. Callahan, for joining us!

This week, Chartwells and Wethersfield Public Schools are celebrating CT Grown for CT Kids Week. We have featured local apples and cucumbers from Bussa Orchard, Deercrest Farms, and Blue Hill Orchards!

On Friday, the High School will be serving Shakshuka for breakfast. A Tunisian dish featuring a poached egg on top of a spiced tomato sauce, served with toast points. The tomatoes were grown and harvested at Horton Farms in South Glastonbury, CT!

On October 2 in the evening, Emerson-Williams hosted its third Cafecito Hispano in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month!

This party was seriously off the hook! It featured dancing, music, food, instruments, performances, poems, crafts, trivia, balloons, prizes, and SO MUCH PRIDE in the beauty of the Hispanic cultures that make up a very vibrant and wonderful part of our EW school community. Thank you to Mrs. Karla Calvo and Mrs. Lisa Ball (our phenomenal English Language Teachers), and all of the other wonderful staff members and parents who made this awesome event possible. We had a blast together!

Hanmer 5th graders are rocking the vote! Students in Hanmer's 5th grade classes worked hard on creating a platform for their participation in the Kid Governor program. Friday morning, students shared their speeches in hopes that their peers will elect them as Hanmer's Kid Governor candidate. From there, candidates are selected from schools across the state to run for Kid Governor for the entire state. This is a great, interactive opportunity for our students to dive into their Social Studies learning! WHOOOOO will win the vote? Go Owls!
