We're very excited to announce ISAAC OKSMAN has joined our faculty! A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Isaac holds two degrees, one in Classical Composition, and the other in Jazz Piano. Isaac's musical interests span the genres to include Pop and Progressive Rock. Most importantly, Isaac is an engaging teacher, who knows how to identify the learning style of each student, enabling him to bring out the their very best, whether it be a young beginner or very advanced player. In addition to being a pianist, Isaac also holds a Black Belt (Shodan) in the martial art of Judo. As a youth, Issac was the Junior Olympic Champion, and also the gold medalist in the Pan-American Championships. Isaac continued competing as an adult, winning the East Coast Judo Championships. Isaac strongly believes in the synergy between sports and music, and how they are mutually beneficial, a philosophy reflected by Westwood Music Studios' owners, Nancy Triggiani and Vincent Musco.

June was a busy month for WMS students with many performances and recitals! Here are photos of another one of our student rock bands performing at Five Dimes Brewery!

Congrats to LIAM BOHAN on the release of his new single, "Anything?" Liam composed the song and performed all the instruments and vocals himself, and produced it! Liam began piano lessons with WMS co-owner, Nancy Triggiani, at age 7, and continued until he graduated high school. When in his teens, he also began studying guitar with WMS co-owner, Vinnie Musco. Additionally, he competed internationally in Irish music (piano) and at the age of 12 became the world silver medalist. Liam is continuing his musical journey as a professional performer and song writer.

Congratulations to WMS piano student Jeffrey Adams for his nomination for a Metro Award. The Metropolitan Theater High School Awards is a regional program that honors exceptional students throughout New Jersey and New York in the field of theater, including musical performance.

Jeffrey, a junior at Emerson Junior-Senior High School, received his nomination in the category of Outstanding Performance by a Student Pit Musician for his work as the pianist in the school’s play, Godspell. Upon learning of his nomination, Jeffrey stated, “I was utterly flabbergasted – stunned,” adding, “I thought my playing would go unnoticed, but I was proven wrong.”

Perhaps one of the reasons why he was so surprised is that Jeffrey has only been taking piano lessons for 3 years and suddenly found himself among the region’s most elite high school musicians.

When asked how music lessons have benefitted his life, Jeffrey states it opened a whole new realm of opportunities by enabling him to join the jazz band and theater as a pianist. Additionally, note reading skills allow him to play all his favorite songs, and accompany friends in their performances. Formal lessons provided him with deeper insight into music, and in his own words, “I can understand how and why a piece was composed much better.”

Jeffrey, who also plays the bass drum in the marching band, has varied interests including volleyball, drawing, coding, and writing. His favorite subject in school is computer science, and he’s considering possible college majors and career paths in programming, art and animation, video game design, or music composition.

To Jeffrey we say, we’re very proud of your achievements, and want you to know that whatever path you take, music can always be a big part of your life.

The Metro Awards will take place June 15, 2026 at the Purchase College of Performing Arts Concert Hall, where Jeffrey will join the other nominees at the gala event.

Congratulations to the WMS students who performed in our recital on June 2nd. WMS recitals are held twice a year in the winter and summer. This provides students the opportunity to share their music with other students, family, and friends. June is a busy month with many more recitals and student concerts! Stay tuned!
