Summer tutoring at a deeeep discount @ $40/hr. If you have the drive, I have the time.

Let’s Zoom it or come in person (Westtown, ny).

ASVAB training (armed forces test). Let’s get a solid hold on fractions, percents, equations, graphing, slope-intercept, parabolas, exponents, proportional reasoning and many more.

Send those kids back to school in September as sharp as ever. They may just want to go back to school more than you want to send them back. (Ok, that’s a streeetch!) use this summer to “sharpen the axe”.

Text me (ric) at 908.246.9209 with any questions. Let’s go get this math.

Summer rates (off peak pricing , $40/ hr for summer).

Fractions got you in pieces (I'm the guy). Equations are all out of balance (I'm the guy). Graphs are increasing/decreasing against your will (I'm the guy). Let's get to the root of the problem (I'm the guy). Let's get it right with perpendicular lines and keep those parallel ones from running into one another (I'm your guy). Love models as much as I do (math models that is; i'm the guy). Are your regular hexagons not tessellating (IYKYK; I'm the guy). Don't get burned (Stay inside, and take advantage of Summer Rates). Get rational, Get rational, get rational...I'm repeating myself. Text me to learn more. Don't understand these jokes (I'm a dad too). Alright...that's enough for now....I don't want to be irrational about these jokes. Know someone that needs ASVAB training (I'll have you in the sky, cause I'm the guy [AF needs a 36 min score]). My kids don't think I'm funny either.

Text me...do it. 908.246.9209. Let’s set up a time. Don’t let them lose the math edge over the summer. Have your kids come back stronger than they left. Have them see and feel the math. Let’s make it make sense.

Post your own math jokes below....

Hello folks. I currently have availability. I offer in-person and remote tutoring on many levels. If I can’t do it, I know someone that can. I have been a teacher since 2001, and tutoring math for longer. I work as a math teacher in a New Jersey district. My specialty is using models (physical and pictures) to bring the math into focus, and create true understanding that will connect with future math learning. My focus is not the grade, but the understanding that leads to better grades, now and in future math classes. The why and the how matters. My methods lead to better thinking about the math and is less about answer-finding and memorization. I like to use Desmos(online graphing calculator) to bring a visual aid to graphs. I enjoy tutoring and the relief that it can bring to your kid(and the family).

We can set up nightly tutoring sessions to go over homework, or meet on a regular basis if that is more suited to your needs.

I am a University of Miami graduate (mechanical engineering/MBA).

If you have any questions, contact me at 908-246-9209. I would love to talk your ear off about what I can offer your child.

Hello folks. Thank you for subscribing to this page. Feel free to pass on my information to anyone, anywhere. With zoom, we can teach anyone/anywhere/anytime.

I’m ready to help your scholar with learning math this school year via zoom, one-on-one (me and the scholar) or one-on-2 (me, scholar, and mom/dad). I guess I could even do small groups with kids from your kid’s class. However, I’m not ready to meet mask-to-mask just yet.

I can pull up zoom and write on the screen (some students, using their own devices (non-chrome books) can also annotate the screen so we can share our work with each other). I can help you using Khan academy where you can do a lot of work yourself and you can use me as a safety-net. I can also try to help with remote learning material that may be too hard to teach yourself at home this upcoming fall.

Side note: I’m going to tell you that I’m really nervous about remote teaching and how that’s going to go for me and my students, but one thing that we should guarantee each other (teachers/students/parents) is that we should keep an open mind, not give up from the start, and try to be as fair, understanding, and patient as possible with each other. Same goes for my tutoring business. Good luck to all of us. Thanks for reading. Ric. 908.246.9209 personal cell; text anytime.

Hello folks. I hope you are well and keeping your distance. As expected, tutoring has come to a screeching halt (at least face to face). I have been zooming with my own students using Khan Academy and it has been working out well for those that have been actively participating. If you've had difficulty with distance learning, I'm here to help. I will be offering 10 free twenty minute sessions (to the first 10 people) via skype, facetime, zoom (whatever works for both of us). I can work with you and your kids at the same time, or you can take those 20 minutes to yourself. Please send me a text at my personal phone number (908.246.9209) to set up your sessions. Also, feel free to pass out the number to your personal friends.

Thank you,
Ric Arias

Your scholars will receive eight sessions, 1.5 hours per session, $48 for the month...that is 12 hours total for the month (comes out to an insane, irresistibly low, unbeatable $4/hr, kumon, how do you pass that deal up?)

Below, at bottom of this text, is the information for signing up for remind 101. A one-way reminder service where I can send text messages to you about the Math Club (and pester you monthly)It is a free service. You can always send me messages by using my personal cell phone, which is, 908. 246. 9209.

Feel free to pass this message along to anyone else who may be having trouble with math.

I also do private tutoring, one-on-one, one on two, or in small groups for studying for tests. I can help children young and old and also adults preparing for various tests involving math such as nursing students, GRE, ACT, SAT, ASVAB testers. I am also willing to instruct old generation learners like myself (parents) on how this new common core works. I believe in the common core and will teach methods of the common core to your scholar (and their parent/guardians).

I use pictures and models to explain why the math works the way it works, which by the way, is the purpose of the common core as I understand it. There is little to no memorization in my ways. You do have to remember some things, but no fancy tricks, no magic. It is all explained and based in reason.

Thank you for reading this far. I went a little overboard. Thank you for joining the Math Club, or rejoining, or for passing this info on to somebody who will you will be saving (mathematically-speaking) for the rest of the year.

Sincerely,
Ric
The math whisperer
