Congratulations to the staff and students of the Westport Elementary School for a phenomenal Time-Travelers Parade celebrating our country's 250th anniversary! Special thanks to Rick Monast, our emcee and physical education teacher, Terry Pacheco, organizer of the event.

Congratulations also to fourth grader, Prestyn Moura who designed the official Field Day Mascot, a giant birthday cake celebrating America's 250th birthday. (A video of the entire parade will follow.)

Congratulations to the Macomber after-school drama club for a wonderful performance of the play, "Stars and Stripes!" Your performance honoring America's 250th birthday was very moving!

The after-school drama club at the Macomber presented "Stars and Stripes," a play celebrating America's 250th birthday on Wednesday, May 27. Pre-school and Kindergarten classmates were encouraged to join in singing and signing "This Land is Your Land," "Yankee Doodle," "You're a Grand Old Flag" and "God Bless America."

What a fabulous performance honoring our country's 250th! Congratulations to all the students and many thanks to teachers, Mrs. Medeiros, Mrs. Thomas, and Mrs. Correia.
