There are various skills needed for problem solving:
💡Comprehension is the first step in solving a problem, being able to conceptually grasp and understand what the issue is
🧠 Divided Attention is needed to simultaneously think of the problem and potential solutions
👁 Visualization is essential part of imagining (making a mental picture) potential solutions
🔐 Logic and Reasoning works in conjunction with these skills to evaluate the problem and determine the best solution and ultimately the action taken to solve the problem


As you can see, each of these underlying cognitive skills are an essential part of problem solving, often overlapping and intertwining with one another. If one of these skills is not working to full capacity, the various skills involved won’t be able to function at their full potential.
