YAH יהוה ELohim said:

וַיִּצֶר 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהִים מִן־הָאֲדָמָה כׇּל־חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה וְאֵת כׇּל־עוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם וַיָּבֵא אֶל־הָאָדָם לִרְאוֹת מַה־יִּקְרָא־לוֹ וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר יִקְרָא־לוֹ הָאָדָם נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה הוּא שְׁמוֹ׃

And YAH יהוה ELohim formed out of the earth all the wild beasts and all the birds of the sky, and brought them to the Human [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ] to see what he would call them; and whatever the Human [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ] called each living creature, that would be its name.

וַיִּקְרָא הָאָדָם שֵׁמוֹת לְכׇל־הַבְּהֵמָה וּלְעוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם וּלְכֹל חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה וּלְאָדָם לֹא־מָצָא עֵזֶר כְּנֶגְדּוֹ׃

And the Human [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ] gave names to all the cattle and to the birds of the sky and to all the wild beasts; but no fitting counterpart [ HELP עֵזֶר EZER ] for a human [ Adam אָדָם ] being was found.

וַיַּפֵּל 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהִים תַּרְדֵּמָה עַל־הָאָדָם וַיִּישָׁן וַיִּקַּח אַחַת מִצַּלְעֹתָיו וַיִּסְגֹּר בָּשָׂר תַּחְתֶּנָּה׃

So YAH יהוה ELohim cast a deep sleep upon the Human [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ]; and, while he slept, [ YAH יה ] took one of his sides and closed up the flesh at that site.

וַיִּבֶן 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהִים אֶת־הַצֵּלָע אֲשֶׁר־לָקַח מִן־הָאָדָם לְאִשָּׁה וַיְבִאֶהָ אֶל־הָאָדָם׃

And YAH יהוה ELohim fashioned the side that had been taken from the Human [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ]into a woman, bringing her to the Human [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ].

וַיֹּאמֶר הָאָדָם זֹאת הַפַּעַם עֶצֶם מֵעֲצָמַי וּבָשָׂר מִבְּשָׂרִי לְזֹאת יִקָּרֵא אִשָּׁה כִּי מֵאִישׁ לֻקְחָה־זֹּאת׃

Then the Human [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ] said:

“This one at last
Is bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh.
This one shall be called Woman [ ISHSHAH אִשָּׁה ],
For from a Man [ ISH אִישׁ ] was she taken.”

עַל־כֵּן יַעֲזׇב־אִישׁ אֶת־אָבִיו וְאֶת־אִמּוֹ וְדָבַק בְּאִשְׁתּוֹ וְהָיוּ לְבָשָׂר אֶחָד׃

Hence a man [ ISH אִישׁ ] leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife [ ISHTO אִשְׁתּוֹ ], so that they become ONE [ EHAD אֶחָד ] flesh.

כִּי־אִם־כֹּה תַעֲשׂוּ לָהֶם מִזְבְּחֹתֵיהֶם תִּתֹּצוּ וּמַצֵּבֹתָם תְּשַׁבֵּרוּ וַאֲשֵׁירֵהֶם תְּגַדֵּעוּן וּפְסִילֵיהֶם תִּשְׂרְפוּן בָּאֵשׁ׃

Instead, this is what you shall do to them: you shall tear down their altars, smash their pillars, cut down their sacred posts, and consign their images to the fire.

פֶּן־תִּכְרֹת בְּרִית לְיוֹשֵׁב הָאָרֶץ וְזָנוּ אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהֵיהֶם וְזָבְחוּ לֵאלֹהֵיהֶם וְקָרָא לְךָ וְאָכַלְתָּ מִזִּבְחוֹ׃

You must not make a COVENANT with the inhabitants of the land, for they will lust after their gods and sacrifice to their gods and invite you, and you will eat of their sacrifices.

וְלָקַחְתָּ מִבְּנֹתָיו לְבָנֶיךָ וְזָנוּ בְנֹתָיו אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהֵיהֶן וְהִזְנוּ אֶת־בָּנֶיךָ אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהֵיהֶן׃

And when you take [ wives into your households ] from among their daughters for your sons, their daughters will lust after their gods and will cause your sons to lust after their gods.

אֱלֹהֵי מַסֵּכָה לֹא תַעֲשֶׂה־לָּךְ׃

You shall not make molten gods for yourselves.

✨ THE SIN OF SHALOMON ✨

וְהַמֶּלֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה אָהַב נָשִׁים נׇכְרִיּוֹת רַבּוֹת וְאֶת־בַּת־פַּרְעֹה מוֹאֲבִיּוֹת עַמֳּנִיּוֹת אֲדֹמִיֹּת צֵדְנִיֹּת חִתִּיֹּת׃

King Shalomon loved many foreign women in addition to Pharaoh’s daughter—Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Phoenician, and Hittite women,

מִן־הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר אָמַר־𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא־תָבֹאוּ בָהֶם וְהֵם לֹא־יָבֹאוּ בָכֶם אָכֵן יַטּוּ אֶת־לְבַבְכֶם אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהֵיהֶם בָּהֶם דָּבַק שְׁלֹמֹה לְאַהֲבָה׃

from the nations of which YAH יהוה had said to the Children of YISRAEL בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל:

“None of you shall join them and none of them shall join you, lest they turn your heart away to follow their gods.”

Such Shalomon clung to and loved.

וַיְהִי־לוֹ נָשִׁים שָׂרוֹת שְׁבַע מֵאוֹת וּפִלַגְשִׁים שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹת וַיַּטּוּ נָשָׁיו אֶת־לִבּוֹ׃

He had seven hundred [ 700 ] royal wives and three hundred [ 300 ] concubines; and his wives turned his heart away.

וַיְהִי לְעֵת זִקְנַת שְׁלֹמֹה נָשָׁיו הִטּוּ אֶת־לְבָבוֹ אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים וְלֹא־הָיָה לְבָבוֹ שָׁלֵם עִם־𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהָיו כִּלְבַב דָּוִיד אָבִיו׃

In his old age, his wives turned away Shalomon’s heart after other gods, and he was not as wholeheartedly devoted to YAH יהוה his ELohim as his father David had been.

וַיֵּלֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה אַחֲרֵי עַשְׁתֹּרֶת אֱלֹהֵי צִדֹנִים וְאַחֲרֵי מִלְכֹּם שִׁקֻּץ עַמֹּנִים׃

Shalomon followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Phoenicians, and Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

וַיַּעַשׂ שְׁלֹמֹה הָרַע בְּעֵינֵי 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 וְלֹא מִלֵּא אַחֲרֵי 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 כְּדָוִד אָבִיו׃ {ס}

Solomon did what was displeasing to YAH יהוה and did not remain loyal to YAH יהוה like his father David.

אָז יִבְנֶה שְׁלֹמֹה בָּמָה לִכְמוֹשׁ שִׁקֻּץ מוֹאָב בָּהָר אֲשֶׁר עַל־פְּנֵי יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם וּלְמֹלֶךְ שִׁקֻּץ בְּנֵי עַמּוֹן׃

At that time, Shalomon built a shrine for Chemosh the abomination of Moab on the hill near Yerusalem, and one for Molech the abomination of the Ammonites.

וְכֵן עָשָׂה לְכׇל־נָשָׁיו הַנׇּכְרִיּוֹת מַקְטִירוֹת וּמְזַבְּחוֹת לֵאלֹהֵיהֶן׃

And he did the same for all his foreign wives who offered and sacrificed to their gods.

וַיִּתְאַנַּף 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 בִּשְׁלֹמֹה כִּי־נָטָה לְבָבוֹ מֵעִם 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הַנִּרְאָה אֵלָיו פַּעֲמָיִם׃

YAH יהוה was angry with Shalomon, because his heart turned away from YAH יהוה, the ELohim of YISRAEL, who had appeared to him twice [ 2 ]

וְצִוָּה אֵלָיו עַל־הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה לְבִלְתִּי־לֶכֶת אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים וְלֹא שָׁמַר אֵת אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּה יְהֹוָה׃ {פ}

and had commanded him about this matter, not to follow other gods; he did not obey what YAH יהוה had commanded.

וַיֹּאמֶר 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 לִשְׁלֹמֹה יַעַן אֲשֶׁר הָיְתָה־זֹּאת עִמָּךְ וְלֹא שָׁמַרְתָּ בְּרִיתִי וְחֻקֹּתַי אֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתִי עָלֶיךָ קָרֹעַ אֶקְרַע אֶת־הַמַּמְלָכָה מֵעָלֶיךָ וּנְתַתִּיהָ לְעַבְדֶּךָ׃

And YAH יהוה said to Solomon:

“Because you are guilty of this—you have not kept My COVENANT and the laws which I enjoined upon you—I will tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one [ 1 ] of your servants.

אַךְ־בְּיָמֶיךָ לֹא אֶעֱשֶׂנָּה לְמַעַן דָּוִד אָבִיךָ מִיַּד בִּנְךָ אֶקְרָעֶנָּה׃

But, for the sake of your father David, I will not do it in your lifetime; I will tear it away from your son.

רַק אֶת־כׇּל־הַמַּמְלָכָה לֹא אֶקְרָע שֵׁבֶט אֶחָד אֶתֵּן לִבְנֶךָ לְמַעַן דָּוִד עַבְדִּי וּלְמַעַן יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִם אֲשֶׁר בָּחָרְתִּי׃ {ס}

However, I will not tear away the whole kingdom; I will give your son ONE [ 1 ] TRIBE, for the sake of My servant David and for the sake of Yerusalem which I have chosen.”

This Yeroboam יָרׇבְעָם was an able man, and when Shalomon saw that the young man was a capable worker, he appointed him over all the forced labor of THE HOUSE OF YOSEF בֵּית יוֹסֵף.

וַיְהִי בָּעֵת הַהִיא וְיָרׇבְעָם יָצָא מִירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם וַיִּמְצָא אֹתוֹ אֲחִיָּה הַשִּׁילֹנִי הַנָּבִיא בַּדֶּרֶךְ וְהוּא מִתְכַּסֶּה בְּשַׂלְמָה חֲדָשָׁה וּשְׁנֵיהֶם לְבַדָּם בַּשָּׂדֶה׃

During that time Yeroboam went out of Yerusalem and the prophet AhiYAH אֲחִיָּה of Shiloh met him on the way. He had put on a new robe; and when the two [ 2 ] were alone in the open country,

וַיִּתְפֹּשׂ אֲחִיָּה בַּשַּׂלְמָה הַחֲדָשָׁה אֲשֶׁר עָלָיו וַיִּקְרָעֶהָ שְׁנֵים עָשָׂר קְרָעִים׃

AhiYAH אֲחִיָּה took hold of the new robe he was wearing and tore it into TWELVE [ 12 ] pieces.

וַיֹּאמֶר לְיָרׇבְעָם קַח־לְךָ עֲשָׂרָה קְרָעִים כִּי כֹה אָמַר 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הִנְנִי קֹרֵעַ אֶת־הַמַּמְלָכָה מִיַּד שְׁלֹמֹה וְנָתַתִּי לְךָ אֵת עֲשָׂרָה הַשְּׁבָטִים׃

“Take TEN [ 10 ] pieces,” he said to Yeroboam. “For thus said YAH יהוה, the ELohim of YISRAEL:

I am about to tear the kingdom out of Shalomon’s hands, and I will give you TEN [ 10 ] TRIBES [ THE HOUSE OF YISRAEL ].

וְהַשֵּׁבֶט הָאֶחָד יִהְיֶה־לּוֹ לְמַעַן עַבְדִּי דָוִד וּלְמַעַן יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִם הָעִיר אֲשֶׁר בָּחַרְתִּי בָהּ מִכֹּל שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃

But ONE [ 1 ] TRIBE [ THE HOUSE OF JUDAH ] shall remain his—for the sake of My servant David and for the sake of Yerusalem, the city that I have chosen out of all THE TRIBES OF YISRAEL.

יַעַן אֲשֶׁר עֲזָבוּנִי וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּ לְעַשְׁתֹּרֶת אֱלֹהֵי צִדֹנִין לִכְמוֹשׁ אֱלֹהֵי מוֹאָב וּלְמִלְכֹּם אֱלֹהֵי בְנֵי־עַמּוֹן וְלֹא־הָלְכוּ בִדְרָכַי לַעֲשׂוֹת הַיָּשָׁר בְּעֵינַי וְחֻקֹּתַי וּמִשְׁפָּטַי כְּדָוִד אָבִיו׃

For they have forsaken Me; they have worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Phoenicians, Chemosh the god of Moab, and Milcom the god of the Ammonites; they have not walked in My ways, or done what is pleasing to Me, or [ kept ] My laws and rules, as his father David did.

they took their daughters to wife and gave their own daughters to their sons, and they worshiped their gods.

וַיַּעֲשׂוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־הָרַע בְּעֵינֵי 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 וַיִּשְׁכְּחוּ אֶת־𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהֵיהֶם וַיַּעַבְדוּ אֶת־הַבְּעָלִים וְאֶת־הָאֲשֵׁרוֹת׃

The Children of YISRAEL בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל did what was offensive to YAH יהוה; they ignored YAH יהוה their ELohim and worshiped the Baalim and the Asheroth.

וַיִּחַר־אַף 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל וַיִּמְכְּרֵם בְּיַד כּוּשַׁן רִשְׁעָתַיִם מֶלֶךְ אֲרַם נַהֲרָיִם וַיַּעַבְדוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־כּוּשַׁן רִשְׁעָתַיִם שְׁמֹנֶה שָׁנִים׃

YAH יהוה became incensed at IsraEL and surrendered them to King Cushan-rishathaim of Aram-naharaim; and the Children of YISRAEL בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל were subject to Cushan-rishathaim for EIGHT [ 8 ] years.

So she said:

“See, your sister-in-law has returned to her people and her gods. Go follow your sister-in-law.”

וַתֹּאמֶר רוּת אַל־תִּפְגְּעִי־בִי לְעׇזְבֵךְ לָשׁוּב מֵאַחֲרָיִךְ כִּי אֶל־אֲשֶׁר תֵּלְכִי אֵלֵךְ וּבַאֲשֶׁר תָּלִינִי אָלִין עַמֵּךְ עַמִּי וֵאלֹהַיִךְ אֱלֹהָי׃

But Ruth רוּת [ The Moabite הַמּוֹאֲבִיָּה ] replied:

“Do not urge me to leave you, to turn back and not follow you. For wherever you go, I will go; wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your ELohim my ELohim

בַּאֲשֶׁר תָּמוּתִי אָמוּת וְשָׁם אֶקָּבֵר כֹּה יַעֲשֶׂה 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 לִי וְכֹה יוֹסִיף כִּי הַמָּוֶת יַפְרִיד בֵּינִי וּבֵינֵךְ׃

Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. Thus and more may YAH יהוה do to me if anything but death parts me from you.”

וַיֹּאמֶר 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהִים לֹא־טוֹב הֱיוֹת הָאָדָם לְבַדּוֹ אֶעֱשֶׂה־לּוֹ עֵזֶר כְּנֶגְדּוֹ׃

YAH יהוה ELohim dijo:

“NO ES BUENO que el Humano [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ] esté solo; Haré una contrapartida adecuada [ AYUDA עֵזֶר EZER ] para él”.

וַיִּצֶר 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהִים מִן־הָאֲדָמָה כׇּל־חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה וְאֵת כׇּל־עוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם וַיָּבֵא אֶל־הָאָדָם לִרְאוֹת מַה־יִּקְרָא־לוֹ וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר יִקְרָא־לוֹ הָאָדָם נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה הוּא שְׁמוֹ׃

Y YAH יהוה ELohim formó de la tierra todas las bestias salvajes y todas las aves del cielo, y las trajo al Humano [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ] para ver cómo las llamaría; y como el Humano [HaAdam הָאָדָם] llamara a cada criatura viviente, ese sería su nombre.

וַיִּקְרָא הָאָדָם שֵׁמוֹת לְכׇל־הַבְּהֵמָה וּלְעוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם וּלְכֹל חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה וּלְאָדָם לֹא־מָצָא עֵזֶר כְּנֶגְדּוֹ׃

Y el Humano [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ] puso nombres a todo el ganado ya las aves del cielo ya todas las bestias salvajes; pero no se encontró una contraparte apropiada [ AYUDA עֵזֶר EZER ] para un ser humano [ Adam אָדָם ].

וַיַּפֵּל 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהִים תַּרְדֵּמָה עַל־הָאָדָם וַיִּישָׁן וַיִּקַּח אַחַת מִצַּלְעֹתָיו וַיִּסְגֹּר בָּשָׂר תַּחְתֶּנָּה׃

Entonces YAH יהוה ELohim echó un sueño profundo sobre el Humano [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ]; y, mientras dormía, [ YAH יה ] tomó uno de sus costados y cerró la carne en ese sitio.

וַיִּבֶן 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהִים אֶת־הַצֵּלָע אֲשֶׁר־לָקַח מִן־הָאָדָם לְאִשָּׁה וַיְבִאֶהָ אֶל־הָאָדָם׃

Y YAH יהוה ELohim modeló el costado que había sido tomado del Humano [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ] en una mujer, llevándola al Humano [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ].

וַיֹּאמֶר הָאָדָם זֹאת הַפַּעַם עֶצֶם מֵעֲצָמַי וּבָשָׂר מִבְּשָׂרִי לְזֹאת יִקָּרֵא אִשָּׁה כִּי מֵאִישׁ לֻקְחָה־זֹּאת׃

Entonces el Humano [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ] dijo:

“Este por fin
es hueso de mis huesos
Y carne de mi carne.
Esta se llamará Varona[ ISHSHAH אִשָּׁה ],
Porque de un Varón [ ISH אִישׁ ] fue tomada.”

עַל־כֵּן יַעֲזׇב־אִישׁ אֶת־אָבִיו וְאֶת־אִמּוֹ וְדָבַק בְּאִשְׁתּוֹ וְהָיוּ לְבָשָׂר אֶחָד׃

Por lo tanto, el hombre [ ISH אִישׁ ] deja a su padre y a su madre y se UNE a su esposa [ ISHTO אִשְׁתּוֹ ], para que sean UNA [EHAD אֶחָד ] carne.

Porque apartarán de Mí a vuestros hijos para que adoren a otros dioses, y la ira de YAH יהוה se encenderá contra vosotros, y pronto os exterminará.

כִּי־אִם־כֹּה תַעֲשׂוּ לָהֶם מִזְבְּחֹתֵיהֶם תִּתֹּצוּ וּמַצֵּבֹתָם תְּשַׁבֵּרוּ וַאֲשֵׁירֵהֶם תְּגַדֵּעוּן וּפְסִילֵיהֶם תִּשְׂרְפוּן בָּאֵשׁ׃

En cambio, esto es lo que haréis con ellos: derribaréis sus altares, romperéis sus columnas, talaréis sus postes sagrados y arrojaréis sus imágenes al fuego.

TEN CUIDADO de hacer un PACTO con los habitantes de la tierra contra la cual estáis avanzando, no sea que sean una trampa en medio de vosotros.

כִּי אֶת־מִזְבְּחֹתָם תִּתֹּצוּן וְאֶת־מַצֵּבֹתָם תְּשַׁבֵּרוּן וְאֶת־אֲשֵׁרָיו תִּכְרֹתוּן׃

Porque su altar será desolado, y su imagen tallada será quebrada, y su felicidad será cortada;

כִּי לֹא תִשְׁתַּחֲוֶה לְאֵל אַחֵר כִּי 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 קַנָּא שְׁמוֹ אֵל קַנָּא הוּא׃

porque no debes adorar a ningún otro dios, porque YAH יהוה, cuyo Nombre es Apasionado, es un ELohim apasionado.

פֶּן־תִּכְרֹת בְּרִית לְיוֹשֵׁב הָאָרֶץ וְזָנוּ אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהֵיהֶם וְזָבְחוּ לֵאלֹהֵיהֶם וְקָרָא לְךָ וְאָכַלְתָּ מִזִּבְחוֹ׃

No debes hacer un PACTO con los habitantes de la tierra, porque codiciarán a sus dioses y sacrificarán a sus dioses y te invitarán, y tú comerás de sus sacrificios.

וְלָקַחְתָּ מִבְּנֹתָיו לְבָנֶיךָ וְזָנוּ בְנֹתָיו אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהֵיהֶן וְהִזְנוּ אֶת־בָּנֶיךָ אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהֵיהֶן׃

Y cuando toméis [ esposas en vuestros hogares ] de entre sus hijas para vuestros hijos, sus hijas codiciarán sus dioses y harán que vuestros hijos codicien sus dioses.

✨ EL PECADO DE SHALOMÓN ✨

וְהַמֶּלֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה אָהַב נָשִׁים נׇכְרִיּוֹת רַבּוֹת וְאֶת־בַּת־פַּרְעֹה מוֹאֲבִיּוֹת עַמֳּנִיּוֹת אֲדֹמִיֹּת צֵדְנִיֹּת חִתִּיֹּת׃

El rey Salomón amó a muchas mujeres extranjeras además de la hija de Faraón: mujeres moabitas, amonitas, edomitas, fenicias e hititas,

מִן־הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר אָמַר־𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא־תָבֹאוּ בָהֶם וְהֵם לֹא־יָבֹאוּ בָכֶם אָכֵן יַטּוּ אֶת־לְבַבְכֶם אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהֵיהֶם בָּהֶם דָּבַק שְׁלֹמֹה לְאַהֲבָה׃

de las naciones de las cuales YAH יהוה había dicho a los Hijos de YISRAEL בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל:

“Ninguno de ustedes se unirá a ellos y ninguno de ellos se unirá a ustedes, para que no desvíen su corazón para seguir a sus dioses”.

Tal Shalomon se aferró y amó.

וַיְהִי־לוֹ נָשִׁים שָׂרוֹת שְׁבַע מֵאוֹת וּפִלַגְשִׁים שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹת וַיַּטּוּ נָשָׁיו אֶת־לִבּוֹ׃

Él tuvo setecientas [ 700 ] mujeres reales y trescientas [ 300 ] concubinas; y sus mujeres desviaron su corazón.

וַיְהִי לְעֵת זִקְנַת שְׁלֹמֹה נָשָׁיו הִטּוּ אֶת־לְבָבוֹ אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים וְלֹא־הָיָה לְבָבוֹ שָׁלֵם עִם־𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהָיו כִּלְבַב דָּוִיד אָבִיו׃

En su vejez, sus esposas desviaron el corazón de Shalomón hacia otros dioses, y él no era tan devoto de YAH יהוה su ELohim como lo había sido su padre David.

וַיֵּלֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה אַחֲרֵי עַשְׁתֹּרֶת אֱלֹהֵי צִדֹנִים וְאַחֲרֵי מִלְכֹּם שִׁקֻּץ עַמֹּנִים׃

Shalomón siguió a Ashtoreth, la diosa de los fenicios, y Milcom, la abominación de los amonitas.

וַיַּעַשׂ שְׁלֹמֹה הָרַע בְּעֵינֵי 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 וְלֹא מִלֵּא אַחֲרֵי 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 כְּדָוִד אָבִיו׃ {ס}

Shalomón hizo lo que desagradaba a YAH יהוה y no permaneció leal a YAH יהוה como su padre David.

אָז יִבְנֶה שְׁלֹמֹה בָּמָה לִכְמוֹשׁ שִׁקֻּץ מוֹאָב בָּהָר אֲשֶׁר עַל־פְּנֵי יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם וּלְמֹלֶךְ שִׁקֻּץ בְּנֵי עַמּוֹן׃

En ese tiempo, Shalomón edificó un santuario para Quemos, la abominación de Moab, en la colina cerca de Yerusalén, y otro para Moloc, la abominación de los amonitas.

וְכֵן עָשָׂה לְכׇל־נָשָׁיו הַנׇּכְרִיּוֹת מַקְטִירוֹת וּמְזַבְּחוֹת לֵאלֹהֵיהֶן׃

E hizo lo mismo con todas sus esposas extranjeras que ofrecieron y sacrificaron a sus dioses.

וַיִּתְאַנַּף 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 בִּשְׁלֹמֹה כִּי־נָטָה לְבָבוֹ מֵעִם 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הַנִּרְאָה אֵלָיו פַּעֲמָיִם׃

YAH יהוה se enojó con Shalomón, porque su corazón se apartó de YAH יהוה, el ELohim de YISRAEL, que se le había aparecido dos [ 2 ] veces

וְצִוָּה אֵלָיו עַל־הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה לְבִלְתִּי־לֶכֶת אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים וְלֹא שָׁמַר אֵת אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּה יְהֹוָה׃ {פ}

y le había mandado sobre este asunto, que no siguiera a otros dioses; no obedeció lo que YAH יהוה le había mandado.

וַיֹּאמֶר 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 לִשְׁלֹמֹה יַעַן אֲשֶׁר הָיְתָה־זֹּאת עִמָּךְ וְלֹא שָׁמַרְתָּ בְּרִיתִי וְחֻקֹּתַי אֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתִי עָלֶיךָ קָרֹעַ אֶקְרַע אֶת־הַמַּמְלָכָה מֵעָלֶיךָ וּנְתַתִּיהָ לְעַבְדֶּךָ׃

Y YAH יהוה dijo a Shalomón:

“Porque sois culpables de esto, no habéis guardado Mi PACTO y las leyes que os ordené, os arrancaré el reino y se lo daré a uno [ 1 ] de vuestros siervos.

אַךְ־בְּיָמֶיךָ לֹא אֶעֱשֶׂנָּה לְמַעַן דָּוִד אָבִיךָ מִיַּד בִּנְךָ אֶקְרָעֶנָּה׃

Pero, por amor a tu padre David, no lo haré mientras vivas; Se lo arrancaré a tu hijo.

רַק אֶת־כׇּל־הַמַּמְלָכָה לֹא אֶקְרָע שֵׁבֶט אֶחָד אֶתֵּן לִבְנֶךָ לְמַעַן דָּוִד עַבְדִּי וּלְמַעַן יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִם אֲשֶׁר בָּחָרְתִּי׃ {ס}

Sin embargo, no arrancaré todo el reino; A tu hijo le daré UNA [ 1 ] TRIBU, por amor a Mi siervo David y por amor a Yerusalén que he escogido.”

וַיְהִי בָּעֵת הַהִיא וְיָרׇבְעָם יָצָא מִירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם וַיִּמְצָא אֹתוֹ אֲחִיָּה הַשִּׁילֹנִי הַנָּבִיא בַּדֶּרֶךְ וְהוּא מִתְכַּסֶּה בְּשַׂלְמָה חֲדָשָׁה וּשְׁנֵיהֶם לְבַדָּם בַּשָּׂדֶה׃

En ese tiempo Yeroboam salió de Yerusalem y el profeta AhiYAH אֲחִיָּה de Shiloh lo encontró en el camino. Se había puesto una túnica nueva; y estando los dos [ 2 ] solos en el campo abierto,

וַיִּתְפֹּשׂ אֲחִיָּה בַּשַּׂלְמָה הַחֲדָשָׁה אֲשֶׁר עָלָיו וַיִּקְרָעֶהָ שְׁנֵים עָשָׂר קְרָעִים׃

AhiYAH אֲחִיָּה tomó la túnica nueva que llevaba puesta y la rasgó en DOCE [ 12 ] pedazos.

וַיֹּאמֶר לְיָרׇבְעָם קַח־לְךָ עֲשָׂרָה קְרָעִים כִּי כֹה אָמַר 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הִנְנִי קֹרֵעַ אֶת־הַמַּמְלָכָה מִיַּד שְׁלֹמֹה וְנָתַתִּי לְךָ אֵת עֲשָׂרָה הַשְּׁבָטִים׃

“Toma DIEZ [ 10 ] piezas”, le dijo a Yeroboam. “Porque así dijo YAH יהוה, el ELohim de YISRAEL:

Estoy a punto de arrancar el reino de las manos de Shalomón, y te daré DIEZ [ 10 ] TRIBUS [ LA CASA DE YISRAEL ].

וְהַשֵּׁבֶט הָאֶחָד יִהְיֶה־לּוֹ לְמַעַן עַבְדִּי דָוִד וּלְמַעַן יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִם הָעִיר אֲשֶׁר בָּחַרְתִּי בָהּ מִכֹּל שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃

Pero UNA [ 1 ] TRIBU [ LA CASA DE JUDÁH ] permanecerá suya, por amor a Mi siervo David y por amor a Yerusalem, la ciudad que he escogido de todas LAS TRIBUS DE YISRAEL.

יַעַן אֲשֶׁר עֲזָבוּנִי וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּ לְעַשְׁתֹּרֶת אֱלֹהֵי צִדֹנִין לִכְמוֹשׁ אֱלֹהֵי מוֹאָב וּלְמִלְכֹּם אֱלֹהֵי בְנֵי־עַמּוֹן וְלֹא־הָלְכוּ בִדְרָכַי לַעֲשׂוֹת הַיָּשָׁר בְּעֵינַי וְחֻקֹּתַי וּמִשְׁפָּטַי כְּדָוִד אָבִיו׃

porque me han desamparado; han adorado a Astoret, diosa de los fenicios, a Quemos, dios de Moab, y a Milcom, dios de los amonitas; no anduvieron en Mis caminos, ni hicieron lo que me agrada, ni [ guardaron ] Mis leyes y Mis preceptos, como lo hizo su padre David.

וַיַּעֲשׂוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־הָרַע בְּעֵינֵי 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 וַיִּשְׁכְּחוּ אֶת־𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהֵיהֶם וַיַּעַבְדוּ אֶת־הַבְּעָלִים וְאֶת־הָאֲשֵׁרוֹת׃

Los Hijos de YISRAEL בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל hicieron lo que fue ofensivo para YAH יהוה; ellos ignoraron a YAH יהוה su ELohim y adoraron a los Baalim y Asheroth.

וַיִּחַר־אַף 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל וַיִּמְכְּרֵם בְּיַד כּוּשַׁן רִשְׁעָתַיִם מֶלֶךְ אֲרַם נַהֲרָיִם וַיַּעַבְדוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־כּוּשַׁן רִשְׁעָתַיִם שְׁמֹנֶה שָׁנִים׃

YAH יהוה se indignó contra YisraEL y los entregó al rey Cusan-risataim de Aram-naharaim; y los Hijos de YISRAEL בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל estuvieron sujetos a Cusan-risataim por OCHO [ 8 ] años.

וַתֹּאמֶר רוּת אַל־תִּפְגְּעִי־בִי לְעׇזְבֵךְ לָשׁוּב מֵאַחֲרָיִךְ כִּי אֶל־אֲשֶׁר תֵּלְכִי אֵלֵךְ וּבַאֲשֶׁר תָּלִינִי אָלִין עַמֵּךְ עַמִּי וֵאלֹהַיִךְ אֱלֹהָי׃

Pero Ruth רוּת [ La moabita הַמּוֹאֲבִיָּה ] respondió:

“No me instes a dejarte, a darme la vuelta y no seguirte. Porque dondequiera que vayas, yo iré; donde tú te alojes, yo me alojaré; tu pueblo será mi pueblo, y tu ELohim mi ELohim

בַּאֲשֶׁר תָּמוּתִי אָמוּת וְשָׁם אֶקָּבֵר כֹּה יַעֲשֶׂה 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 לִי וְכֹה יוֹסִיף כִּי הַמָּוֶת יַפְרִיד בֵּינִי וּבֵינֵךְ׃

Donde tú mueras, yo moriré, y allí seré sepultado. Así y más me haga YAH יהוה si algo que no sea la muerte me separe de ti.”

✨ 𝐈𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐔𝐌𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐎 𝐁𝐄 𝐀𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐄 ✨

וַיֹּאמֶר 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהִים לֹא־טוֹב הֱיוֹת הָאָדָם לְבַדּוֹ אֶעֱשֶׂה־לּוֹ עֵזֶר כְּנֶגְדּוֹ׃

YAH יהוה ELohim said:

“It IS NOT GOOD for the Human [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ] to be alone; I will make a fitting counterpart [ HELP עֵזֶר EZER ] for him.”

וַיִּצֶר 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהִים מִן־הָאֲדָמָה כׇּל־חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה וְאֵת כׇּל־עוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם וַיָּבֵא אֶל־הָאָדָם לִרְאוֹת מַה־יִּקְרָא־לוֹ וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר יִקְרָא־לוֹ הָאָדָם נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה הוּא שְׁמוֹ׃

And YAH יהוה ELohim formed out of the earth all the wild beasts and all the birds of the sky, and brought them to the Human [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ] to see what he would call them; and whatever the Human [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ] called each living creature, that would be its name.

וַיִּקְרָא הָאָדָם שֵׁמוֹת לְכׇל־הַבְּהֵמָה וּלְעוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם וּלְכֹל חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה וּלְאָדָם לֹא־מָצָא עֵזֶר כְּנֶגְדּוֹ׃

And the Human [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ] gave names to all the cattle and to the birds of the sky and to all the wild beasts; but no fitting counterpart [ HELP עֵזֶר EZER ] for a human [ Adam אָדָם ] being was found.

וַיַּפֵּל 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהִים תַּרְדֵּמָה עַל־הָאָדָם וַיִּישָׁן וַיִּקַּח אַחַת מִצַּלְעֹתָיו וַיִּסְגֹּר בָּשָׂר תַּחְתֶּנָּה׃

So YAH יהוה ELohim cast a deep sleep upon the Human [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ]; and, while he slept, [ YAH יה ] took one of his sides and closed up the flesh at that site.

וַיִּבֶן 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהִים אֶת־הַצֵּלָע אֲשֶׁר־לָקַח מִן־הָאָדָם לְאִשָּׁה וַיְבִאֶהָ אֶל־הָאָדָם׃

And YAH יהוה ELohim fashioned the side that had been taken from the Human [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ]into a woman, bringing her to the Human [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ].

וַיֹּאמֶר הָאָדָם זֹאת הַפַּעַם עֶצֶם מֵעֲצָמַי וּבָשָׂר מִבְּשָׂרִי לְזֹאת יִקָּרֵא אִשָּׁה כִּי מֵאִישׁ לֻקְחָה־זֹּאת׃

Then the Human [ HaAdam הָאָדָם ] said:

“This one at last
Is bone of my bones
And flesh of my flesh.
This one shall be called Woman [ ISHSHAH אִשָּׁה ],
For from a Man [ ISH אִישׁ ] was she taken.”

עַל־כֵּן יַעֲזׇב־אִישׁ אֶת־אָבִיו וְאֶת־אִמּוֹ וְדָבַק בְּאִשְׁתּוֹ וְהָיוּ לְבָשָׂר אֶחָד׃

Hence a man [ ISH אִישׁ ] leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife [ ISHTO אִשְׁתּוֹ ], so that they become ONE [ EHAD אֶחָד ] flesh.

כִּי־אִם־כֹּה תַעֲשׂוּ לָהֶם מִזְבְּחֹתֵיהֶם תִּתֹּצוּ וּמַצֵּבֹתָם תְּשַׁבֵּרוּ וַאֲשֵׁירֵהֶם תְּגַדֵּעוּן וּפְסִילֵיהֶם תִּשְׂרְפוּן בָּאֵשׁ׃

Instead, this is what you shall do to them: you shall tear down their altars, smash their pillars, cut down their sacred posts, and consign their images to the fire.

✨ BEWARE

הִשָּׁמֶר לְךָ פֶּן־תִּכְרֹת בְּרִית לְיוֹשֵׁב הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה בָּא עָלֶיהָ פֶּן־יִהְיֶה לְמוֹקֵשׁ בְּקִרְבֶּךָ׃

BEWARE of making a COVENANT with the inhabitants of the land against which you are advancing, lest they be a snare in your midst.

כִּי אֶת־מִזְבְּחֹתָם תִּתֹּצוּן וְאֶת־מַצֵּבֹתָם תְּשַׁבֵּרוּן וְאֶת־אֲשֵׁרָיו תִּכְרֹתוּן׃

פֶּן־תִּכְרֹת בְּרִית לְיוֹשֵׁב הָאָרֶץ וְזָנוּ אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהֵיהֶם וְזָבְחוּ לֵאלֹהֵיהֶם וְקָרָא לְךָ וְאָכַלְתָּ מִזִּבְחוֹ׃

You must not make a COVENANT with the inhabitants of the land, for they will lust after their gods and sacrifice to their gods and invite you, and you will eat of their sacrifices.

וְלָקַחְתָּ מִבְּנֹתָיו לְבָנֶיךָ וְזָנוּ בְנֹתָיו אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהֵיהֶן וְהִזְנוּ אֶת־בָּנֶיךָ אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהֵיהֶן׃

And when you take [ wives into your households ] from among their daughters for your sons, their daughters will lust after their gods and will cause your sons to lust after their gods.

אֱלֹהֵי מַסֵּכָה לֹא תַעֲשֶׂה־לָּךְ׃

You shall not make molten gods for yourselves.

✨ THE SIN OF SHALOMON ✨

וְהַמֶּלֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה אָהַב נָשִׁים נׇכְרִיּוֹת רַבּוֹת וְאֶת־בַּת־פַּרְעֹה מוֹאֲבִיּוֹת עַמֳּנִיּוֹת אֲדֹמִיֹּת צֵדְנִיֹּת חִתִּיֹּת׃

King Shalomon loved many foreign women in addition to Pharaoh’s daughter—Moabite, Ammonite, Edomite, Phoenician, and Hittite women,

מִן־הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר אָמַר־𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא־תָבֹאוּ בָהֶם וְהֵם לֹא־יָבֹאוּ בָכֶם אָכֵן יַטּוּ אֶת־לְבַבְכֶם אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהֵיהֶם בָּהֶם דָּבַק שְׁלֹמֹה לְאַהֲבָה׃

from the nations of which YAH יהוה had said to the Children of YISRAEL בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל:

“None of you shall join them and none of them shall join you, lest they turn your heart away to follow their gods.”

Such Shalomon clung to and loved.

וַיְהִי־לוֹ נָשִׁים שָׂרוֹת שְׁבַע מֵאוֹת וּפִלַגְשִׁים שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאוֹת וַיַּטּוּ נָשָׁיו אֶת־לִבּוֹ׃

He had seven hundred [ 700 ] royal wives and three hundred [ 300 ] concubines; and his wives turned his heart away.

וַיְהִי לְעֵת זִקְנַת שְׁלֹמֹה נָשָׁיו הִטּוּ אֶת־לְבָבוֹ אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים וְלֹא־הָיָה לְבָבוֹ שָׁלֵם עִם־𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהָיו כִּלְבַב דָּוִיד אָבִיו׃

In his old age, his wives turned away Shalomon’s heart after other gods, and he was not as wholeheartedly devoted to YAH יהוה his ELohim as his father David had been.

וַיֵּלֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה אַחֲרֵי עַשְׁתֹּרֶת אֱלֹהֵי צִדֹנִים וְאַחֲרֵי מִלְכֹּם שִׁקֻּץ עַמֹּנִים׃

Shalomon followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Phoenicians, and Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

וַיַּעַשׂ שְׁלֹמֹה הָרַע בְּעֵינֵי 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 וְלֹא מִלֵּא אַחֲרֵי 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 כְּדָוִד אָבִיו׃ {ס}

Solomon did what was displeasing to YAH יהוה and did not remain loyal to YAH יהוה like his father David.

אָז יִבְנֶה שְׁלֹמֹה בָּמָה לִכְמוֹשׁ שִׁקֻּץ מוֹאָב בָּהָר אֲשֶׁר עַל־פְּנֵי יְרוּשָׁלָ͏ִם וּלְמֹלֶךְ שִׁקֻּץ בְּנֵי עַמּוֹן׃

At that time, Shalomon built a shrine for Chemosh the abomination of Moab on the hill near Yerusalem, and one for Molech the abomination of the Ammonites.

וְכֵן עָשָׂה לְכׇל־נָשָׁיו הַנׇּכְרִיּוֹת מַקְטִירוֹת וּמְזַבְּחוֹת לֵאלֹהֵיהֶן׃

And he did the same for all his foreign wives who offered and sacrificed to their gods.

וַיִּתְאַנַּף 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 בִּשְׁלֹמֹה כִּי־נָטָה לְבָבוֹ מֵעִם 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הַנִּרְאָה אֵלָיו פַּעֲמָיִם׃

YAH יהוה was angry with Shalomon, because his heart turned away from YAH יהוה, the ELohim of YISRAEL, who had appeared to him twice [ 2 ]

וְצִוָּה אֵלָיו עַל־הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה לְבִלְתִּי־לֶכֶת אַחֲרֵי אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים וְלֹא שָׁמַר אֵת אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּה יְהֹוָה׃ {פ}

and had commanded him about this matter, not to follow other gods; he did not obey what YAH יהוה had commanded.

וַיֹּאמֶר 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 לִשְׁלֹמֹה יַעַן אֲשֶׁר הָיְתָה־זֹּאת עִמָּךְ וְלֹא שָׁמַרְתָּ בְּרִיתִי וְחֻקֹּתַי אֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתִי עָלֶיךָ קָרֹעַ אֶקְרַע אֶת־הַמַּמְלָכָה מֵעָלֶיךָ וּנְתַתִּיהָ לְעַבְדֶּךָ׃

And YAH יהוה said to Solomon:

“Because you are guilty of this—you have not kept My COVENANT and the laws which I enjoined upon you—I will tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one [ 1 ] of your servants.

אַךְ־בְּיָמֶיךָ לֹא אֶעֱשֶׂנָּה לְמַעַן דָּוִד אָבִיךָ מִיַּד בִּנְךָ אֶקְרָעֶנָּה׃

But, for the sake of your father David, I will not do it in your lifetime; I will tear it away from your son.

רַק אֶת־כׇּל־הַמַּמְלָכָה לֹא אֶקְרָע שֵׁבֶט אֶחָד אֶתֵּן לִבְנֶךָ לְמַעַן דָּוִד עַבְדִּי וּלְמַעַן יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִם אֲשֶׁר בָּחָרְתִּי׃ {ס}

However, I will not tear away the whole kingdom; I will give your son ONE [ 1 ] TRIBE, for the sake of My servant David and for the sake of Yerusalem which I have chosen.”

This Yeroboam יָרׇבְעָם was an able man, and when Shalomon saw that the young man was a capable worker, he appointed him over all the forced labor of THE HOUSE OF YOSEF בֵּית יוֹסֵף.

וַיְהִי בָּעֵת הַהִיא וְיָרׇבְעָם יָצָא מִירוּשָׁלָ͏ִם וַיִּמְצָא אֹתוֹ אֲחִיָּה הַשִּׁילֹנִי הַנָּבִיא בַּדֶּרֶךְ וְהוּא מִתְכַּסֶּה בְּשַׂלְמָה חֲדָשָׁה וּשְׁנֵיהֶם לְבַדָּם בַּשָּׂדֶה׃

During that time Yeroboam went out of Yerusalem and the prophet AhiYAH אֲחִיָּה of Shiloh met him on the way. He had put on a new robe; and when the two [ 2 ] were alone in the open country,

וַיִּתְפֹּשׂ אֲחִיָּה בַּשַּׂלְמָה הַחֲדָשָׁה אֲשֶׁר עָלָיו וַיִּקְרָעֶהָ שְׁנֵים עָשָׂר קְרָעִים׃

AhiYAH אֲחִיָּה took hold of the new robe he was wearing and tore it into TWELVE [ 12 ] pieces.

וַיֹּאמֶר לְיָרׇבְעָם קַח־לְךָ עֲשָׂרָה קְרָעִים כִּי כֹה אָמַר 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הִנְנִי קֹרֵעַ אֶת־הַמַּמְלָכָה מִיַּד שְׁלֹמֹה וְנָתַתִּי לְךָ אֵת עֲשָׂרָה הַשְּׁבָטִים׃

“Take TEN [ 10 ] pieces,” he said to Yeroboam. “For thus said YAH יהוה, the ELohim of YISRAEL:

I am about to tear the kingdom out of Shalomon’s hands, and I will give you TEN [ 10 ] TRIBES [ THE HOUSE OF YISRAEL ].

וְהַשֵּׁבֶט הָאֶחָד יִהְיֶה־לּוֹ לְמַעַן עַבְדִּי דָוִד וּלְמַעַן יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִם הָעִיר אֲשֶׁר בָּחַרְתִּי בָהּ מִכֹּל שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃

But ONE [ 1 ] TRIBE [ THE HOUSE OF JUDAH ] shall remain his—for the sake of My servant David and for the sake of Yerusalem, the city that I have chosen out of all THE TRIBES OF YISRAEL.

יַעַן אֲשֶׁר עֲזָבוּנִי וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲווּ לְעַשְׁתֹּרֶת אֱלֹהֵי צִדֹנִין לִכְמוֹשׁ אֱלֹהֵי מוֹאָב וּלְמִלְכֹּם אֱלֹהֵי בְנֵי־עַמּוֹן וְלֹא־הָלְכוּ בִדְרָכַי לַעֲשׂוֹת הַיָּשָׁר בְּעֵינַי וְחֻקֹּתַי וּמִשְׁפָּטַי כְּדָוִד אָבִיו׃

For they have forsaken Me; they have worshiped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Phoenicians, Chemosh the god of Moab, and Milcom the god of the Ammonites; they have not walked in My ways, or done what is pleasing to Me, or [ kept ] My laws and rules, as his father David did.

וַיִּקְחוּ אֶת־בְּנוֹתֵיהֶם לָהֶם לְנָשִׁים וְאֶת־בְּנוֹתֵיהֶם נָתְנוּ לִבְנֵיהֶם וַיַּעַבְדוּ אֶת־אֱלֹהֵיהֶם׃ {פ}

they took their daughters to wife and gave their own daughters to their sons, and they worshiped their gods.

וַיַּעֲשׂוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־הָרַע בְּעֵינֵי 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 וַיִּשְׁכְּחוּ אֶת־𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 אֱלֹהֵיהֶם וַיַּעַבְדוּ אֶת־הַבְּעָלִים וְאֶת־הָאֲשֵׁרוֹת׃

The Children of YISRAEL בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל did what was offensive to YAH יהוה; they ignored YAH יהוה their ELohim and worshiped the Baalim and the Asheroth.

וַיִּחַר־אַף 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל וַיִּמְכְּרֵם בְּיַד כּוּשַׁן רִשְׁעָתַיִם מֶלֶךְ אֲרַם נַהֲרָיִם וַיַּעַבְדוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־כּוּשַׁן רִשְׁעָתַיִם שְׁמֹנֶה שָׁנִים׃

YAH יהוה became incensed at IsraEL and surrendered them to King Cushan-rishathaim of Aram-naharaim; and the Children of YISRAEL בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל were subject to Cushan-rishathaim for EIGHT [ 8 ] years.

וַתֹּאמֶר הִנֵּה שָׁבָה יְבִמְתֵּךְ אֶל־עַמָּהּ וְאֶל־אֱלֹהֶיהָ שׁוּבִי אַחֲרֵי יְבִמְתֵּךְ׃

So she said:

“See, your sister-in-law has returned to her people and her gods. Go follow your sister-in-law.”

וַתֹּאמֶר רוּת אַל־תִּפְגְּעִי־בִי לְעׇזְבֵךְ לָשׁוּב מֵאַחֲרָיִךְ כִּי אֶל־אֲשֶׁר תֵּלְכִי אֵלֵךְ וּבַאֲשֶׁר תָּלִינִי אָלִין עַמֵּךְ עַמִּי וֵאלֹהַיִךְ אֱלֹהָי׃

But Ruth רוּת [ The Moabite הַמּוֹאֲבִיָּה ] replied:

“Do not urge me to leave you, to turn back and not follow you. For wherever you go, I will go; wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your ELohim my ELohim

בַּאֲשֶׁר תָּמוּתִי אָמוּת וְשָׁם אֶקָּבֵר כֹּה יַעֲשֶׂה 𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 לִי וְכֹה יוֹסִיף כִּי הַמָּוֶת יַפְרִיד בֵּינִי וּבֵינֵךְ׃

Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. Thus and more may YAH יהוה do to me if anything but death parts me from you.”
