A big thank you to Cort Pomeroy, Director of Enrollment Management, for a wonderful and informative revisit to Groton School.

Groton is a small, tight-knit boarding and day community (about 380 students in grades 8-12) where connection comes first. The day starts with chapel and ends with a handshake with faculty and prefects at dorm check-in.

What stood out: a "we succeed together" culture, with students forming their own study groups; academic rigor that is intense, balanced by a wide range of course offerings, including one-on-one tutorials that let students go deeper into a subject; a strong arts and extracurricular scene where athletes often take the stage in the spring plays; and global education trips from Peru to Paris. Groton is also now need-blind.

Groton is demanding with a real sense of belonging, it's hard for a student to slip through the cracks.

A Wonderful Revisit to The Rivers School

I had a wonderful time revisiting Rivers School and reconnecting with the admissions team. A big thank you to Yassine Talhaoui, Director of Enrollment Management, Head of School Ryan Dahlem, and the entire team for such a fun and informative morning!

Rivers’ philosophy of “Excellence with Humanity” truly comes through - a school that balances academic challenge while focusing on developing well-rounded humans.

A few highlights: advanced science and genetic research, summer internships, signature math programs, an award-winning jazz band, and excellent athletics. Rivers is also continuing to invest in counseling, wellness, and the overall student experience.

For families looking for rigor, opportunity, and genuine care, Rivers is certainly a school worth exploring.

A Morning at Belmont Hill

I spent Tuesday morning revisiting Belmont Hill School meeting with admissions staff, faculty, fellow educational consultants, and placement directors.

A huge thank you to Head of School Gregory Schneider head for his time, and to Charlie Doar, Director of Admission, Aylin Flanagan, Director of Financial Aid and Associate Director of Admission, and the entire Belmont Hill team for such an informative and collaborative morning.

Belmont Hill is an all-boys school where character, community, and connection are at the center of the experience. Its teacher-coach-advisor model - nearly 90% of faculty coach a sport - helps create a strong sense of brotherhood and belonging.

A few other highlights: Harkness-style academics beginning in 7th grade, a standout robotics program, and a five-day boarding option for Greater Boston families.

With strong financial aid opportunities and a distinctive, values-driven approach to education, Belmont Hill is certainly a school worth knowing about.

A Morning at Riverview School Cape Cod

What a wonderful morning at The Riverview School on Cape Cod - a school serving neurodiverse students in grades 6–12 with both day and boarding options.
