We’re looking for Room Parents for the 2026-2027 school year — and we’d love for you to be part of it!
As a Room Parent, you’ll partner with your child’s teacher and co-room parent to:
🎉 Coordinate class parties
📬 Share classroom news & activities with parents
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Organize a class playdate & Parent's Night Out
📇 Help manage the class contact list
This is a fantastic way to volunteer, stay connected, make a difference, and always be in-the-know! We aim for two Room Parents per class.

☀️ Happy Summer, Hurlbutt Families! 🐝

As another incredible school year comes to a close, we want to wish all of our students, families, teachers, and staff a summer filled with sunshine, adventure, laughter, and special memories.

Thank you for making this year so meaningful through your support, volunteerism, and school spirit. Together, we created unforgettable experiences, strengthened our community, and made Hurlbutt an even more special place for our children.

To our second graders moving up to WIS, we are so proud of you and can't wait to see all the amazing things you'll accomplish next year!

Enjoy every moment of summer break—we'll see you back at the hive before you know it! 💛🖤

♻️ Recycle Your School Supplies This Summer! 🎒✏️

As you clean out backpacks and desks at the end of the school year, don't throw those worn-out school supplies away—recycle them!

Our local Staples (420 Westport Ave) offers a free in-store recycling program for used and emptied:
✅ Backpacks
✅ Lunch bags
✅ Binders
✅ Pens & pencils
✅ Markers & highlighters
✅ Empty glue sticks
✅ Pencil cases
✅ Rulers
…and more!

Backpacks, lunch bags, and binders can be recycled in virtually any condition. Through Close the Loop's recycling program, these materials are repurposed and kept out of landfills, helping support a more sustainable circular economy.
