🌿 Honoring Indigenous Peoples’ Day 🌿
Today, we recognize and celebrate the histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. Did you know-the first inhabitants of Weston were Indigenous peoples from the Paugussett tribe. These were Algonquian-speaking peoples who lived a semi-nomadic life, traveling in small groups in search for seasonal sources of food. We remember them today as an opportunity to learn about the Indigenous communities who have shaped our nation and to encourage curiosity, understanding, and respect in our children.💛
