Our Sagemont Prep third graders welcomed Master Sergeant Leonard for a special lesson on proper flag etiquette and the importance of honoring the American flag.

As part of Sagemont Prep’s flag duty program, third grade students take responsibility for raising and lowering the flag each school day. Master Sergeant Leonard guided students through the proper procedures both in the classroom and at the flagpole, while sharing the meaning and tradition behind this important responsibility.

We are proud to see our third graders take on this role with care, respect, and a growing sense of patriotism.

Our new parent series, Collaborate. Create. Community., officially kicked off with a morning of creativity and connection as Sagemont Prep parents learned how to create their own balloon arches!

A special thank you to Mrs. Flowers, who shared her talent and guided our parents through each step. Her vision for this series is to create meaningful opportunities for parents from both campuses to come together, connect, and enjoy learning something new.

Our annual College Fair was a tremendous success, bringing representatives from colleges and universities across the country to Sagemont Prep. Students had the opportunity to connect directly with admissions representatives, explore a wide range of programs, and learn more about the many paths available to them after graduation.

A special thank you to our College Counselor, Mrs. Matheny, for organizing this valuable experience and continuing to provide our students with meaningful opportunities throughout the college planning process.

The wait is over! Our Sagemont Prep Lower Campus Lions officially discovered their Houses during our much-anticipated House Sorting Celebration.

The excitement built as students learned where they belonged and joined their fellow Lions in one of our four Houses: Axiom, Meridian, Vector, and Lumen. Throughout the year, the House System will create opportunities for students across grade levels to connect, lead, contribute, and build a strong sense of belonging.

Four Houses, each with its own identity and spirit, but one Sagemont Prep. No matter the House, our Lions remain united.

Harkness discussions are an integral part of learning at Sagemont Prep, building students’ skills in thoughtful dialogue, active listening, and critical thinking.

Our juniors recently put those skills into practice during an engaging Harkness discussion centered on the essential question: When community interests conflict, how should local government determine what is in the public’s interest?

We were honored to welcome City of Weston Mayor Margaret Brown, who joined the conversation and brought a real-world perspective to the discussion. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, consider different viewpoints, and deepen their understanding of how decisions are made at the local level.

Experiences like this extend learning beyond the classroom, connecting the skills our students develop every day at Sagemont Prep with the people, issues, and decisions shaping the world around them.

Today, Sagemont Prep Lion Mila had the honor of singing the National Anthem at the Weston YMCA Family Center’s annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony and Breakfast, held in partnership with The For Paul Foundation.

As our community gathered to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, honor the survivors, and recognize the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of our nation’s first responders, Mila’s performance helped open a meaningful morning of remembrance.

We are proud to see our Sagemont Prep Lions use their talents for moments that carry such significance. We will never forget.

Our Sagemont Prep fifth grade scientists explored an important question: How do animals depend on the sun for more than just heat?

Through hands-on investigations and models, our lions discovered how the energy animals receive from food can ultimately be traced back to the sun. They explored how this energy supports growth, movement, body repair, and warmth while developing foundational science skills such as observing, predicting, and recording data.

During their lab investigation, students compared a healthy mint plant with one deprived of sunlight, documenting changes over time through observations and illustrations. The experience helped bring energy transfer to life, connecting sunlight, plants, and the energy animals need to grow and thrive.

Our annual Sagemont Prep Splash was a blast! Families from both campuses came together for one of our favorite back-to-school traditions. We loved seeing our Lions enjoying the afternoon with family and friends as we kicked off another school year together. We are so grateful for the families who make Sagemont Prep such an incredible community.

What a way to kick off our first Upper Campus Advisory of the year!

From karaoke and sponge races to water cannons, our Middle and High School students spent their first Advisory working together, cheering each other on, and having some good old-fashioned fun.

While the games brought plenty of laughter, they also served an important purpose: creating opportunities for students to collaborate, build trust, and strengthen relationships with their peers and faculty.

That sense of connection is at the heart of our Advisory Program. Each week, Advisory provides students with a smaller community within Sagemont Prep where they can navigate challenges together, reflect on their growth, and develop a trusted network of support throughout the year.

It was a memorable start to an important part of the Sagemont Prep experience.
