Meet Our Staff

Ms. Elyse, Apple Room Teacher

Elyse has lived most of her life in Colorado and Boston, but after attending Marlboro College near Brattleboro, Vermont always felt like home. Elyse’s professional life has been entirely in early childhood education, where she worked primarily with the toddler age group in Montessori settings. She’s excited about working with the children in the Apple classroom, and looks forward to expanding her understanding of this age group. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and cooking. Elyse is eager to try different handcrafts-with the students in the Apple Classroom.

Ms. Leigh, Rainbow Room & Kids Club Teacher

Leigh has worked in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2011, when her daughter first attended The Little School as a student. She was previously a teacher at TLS before leaving to complete her teaching degree and Montessori training. Leigh now holds a Vermont Teaching License and has returned to our team. Her two children are now grown, and she enjoys spending her free time at the barn with her horses. Leigh brings a calm presence and endless patience to the Rainbow Room team.

Ms. Linda, Substitute

Since joining our program last winter, Linda has become an integral part of our team. Linda spent the majority of her life in Connecticut and has been in the field of Early Childhood Education for many years. She has her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and has been a teacher and director of several programs over the last fifty years. After retiring, she and her husband moved to Vermont to be closer to their family. When not at TLS, you might see Linda volunteering at her church or subbing at another local program.

Ms. Sarah, Apple Room & Kids Club Teacher

Sarah joined The Little School this summer. A Weston native, she has a special connection to TLS—her brother is a Little School alumnus. After graduating from high school, Sarah attended college in Maine and then spent a year on the West Coast working in childcare programs through AmeriCorps. She plans to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education this year. Sarah enjoys crafting, spending time outdoors, and caring for animals. Her eagerness to learn and positive attitude make her a wonderful addition to our Apple Room team.

Ms. Emma, Sunshine Room & Kids Club Teacher

Emma grew up in Vermont and, after graduating from high school, spent a year in New York working as a teacher's assistant in a childcare program with toddlers. She is currently enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program at Community College of Vermont (CCV). She enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends. Emma especially enjoys sharing music and movement with the children.

Ms. Ashley, Sunshine Room Teacher

Ashley joined the Sunshine Room team this past spring. A native Vermonter, she has worked full-time with children since 2019, gaining experience with children from 12 weeks to 12 years of age. Ashley is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. On weekends, she and her partner enjoy renovating their newly purchased historic home. Ashley brings creativity, fresh ideas, and wonderful energy to the Sunshine Room.

Ms. Pam, Rainbow Room Teacher

Pam's family relocated to Vermont in 2021, and she joined The Little School in 2023. Before moving to Vermont, she worked in a Massachusetts elementary school supporting children with diverse abilities. Pam holds a degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and recently completed the Fundamentals for Early Childhood Professionals course. She and her husband enjoy visits from their three grown children. In her spare time, Pam loves reading and skiing, and she enjoys sharing her love of books with the children at The Little School.

Ms. Jes, Apple Room Lead Teacher & School Coach

Jes has been part of The Little School family since 2001. She holds an Early Childhood Certificate from CCV and brings a deep passion for early childhood education to everything she does. Over the years, she has been a teacher, mentor, and coach to countless children and educators. Outside of school, Jes enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, dog, and cat. Her hobbies include gardening, reading, and crafting. Jes shares her passion, creativity, and experience with the children and the entire program.
