DC Everest Idea School DC Everest's Idea School is a charter school that uses project-based learning as an alternative to the traditional mode of education

Idea Charter School is:
-A public charter school open to 6th-12th grade students who thrive in a self-directed, learning environment which mentors and encourages student autonomy.
-A project-based learning format where students meet state standards through the exploration and in depth research of complex ideas and topics.
-Students demonstrate mastery of that learning by synthesizing their researc

h into authentic, real-world projects.
-A school with rigor and high expectations. Students are required to be accepted into a post-secondary educational institution or the military in order to graduate Idea Charter School.
-A school dedicated to developing and encouraging students to be of service to others.
-A smaller school with a community/family atmosphere.
-Part of the School District of D.C. Everest Area School District dedicated to providing innovative educational opportunities to meet the needs of all learners.

Good luck to Ava Nantell as she heads to Maryland this week for the National History Day competition!

Ava will be competing at the national level in the Junior Paper Division, and we couldn’t be more proud of her incredible achievement. She is representing not only DCE Idea School, but also the entire state of Wisconsin at the National Contest!

Join us in wishing Ava the very best as she showcases her hard work, talent, and passion for history on the national stage!

Today’s highlight is on Mako Pratt and her project on The Importance of Wildlife Beyond Human Need. Over the course of the school year she has been learning about wildlife rehabilitation and veterinary practices both in general and through the lens of Wisconsin’s only current endangered mammal.
