We welcome all types of families letting children know there is beauty & love in every single family. Especially the ones to Disney!
With many years of child care experience behind her Discovery Rainbow Home Daycare was started by my wife Jennifer in November of 2002. When she was younger Jennifer started out helping her mom with child care in their home eventually moving on to hold positions at various centers around the area and as a private nanny. Jennifer has also taught preschool and other children’s classes at the Downers
Grove Park District and is still asked to return to this day. When she started Discovery Rainbow we lived in a two bedroom apartment in Downers Grove and shared most of our living space with the daycare. Over the course of the last fourteen plus years we have moved from apartment to town house, town house to our current home growing our business and what we could offer our clients and the children we care for each time. Leaving a managerial position at the University of Illinois at Chicago Jim started staying home and working full time with the daycare in 2004. This was for business reasons as well as us expecting our first child and we both wanted to spend as much time with our children growing up as possible. We also wanted to provide the best possible care for our client’s children as well as our own and we decided both of us at home together would be the best answer to this goal. We are both in our forties and have a teenage son Joshua and daughter Jadyn who home school as well as two cute puppies Jamie Grace and Jerome which are Shiatsu/Maltese mix. We have no other permanent staff but may employ a third assistant in the summers & when needed as well as having Jens sister Dyanna help or sub for one of us from time to time. In our spare time Jim also volunteers with the youth groups at our church and Jen enjoys researching and planning our family vacations. We take children six weeks to six years of age. Striving to provide the best environment and activities to prepare your child(ren) to eventually graduate to kindergarten. We try to create a very open and friendly relationship with our daycare parents and refer to all our clients as our “Daycare Family”. We TRY to have a special event once a year where parents can meet and get to know each other and the other children. Many of our families become friends outside of day care as well as in. We know there is nothing more important in the world to you than your children and hope to make the decision to put your children in daycare a little easier. We strive to provide a safe and loving environment where your children feel comfortable and happy in their home away from home, while learning skills and making friends to last a lifetime.
