Here at Celebree School of Westminster, we understand that a childโs lifelong success starts with a natural love of learning. ๐๐
Thatโs why our early childhood education approach is rooted in curiosity and the joy of discovery, creating a learning environment where children feel empowered to explore and grow.
By focusing on the natural joy of learning, we empower children to thrive in every aspect of their development: academic, physical, cognitive, and social-emotional. ๐

๐ง๐ฌ A Little Ice Science! ๐ปโโ๏ธโ๏ธ
Today, we turned our playground into a little science lab! Our sensory tables were filled with ice in different colors, ice with frozen animals inside, and plenty of tools for the children to explore, measure, touch, and observe. ๐ง๐ ๐ฆ
The children had so much fun watching their โexperimentsโ unfold as the ice slowly melted and revealed what was hiding inside! They were able to make predictions, ask questions, problem-solve, and discover cause and effect all through hands-on play. ๐โจ
Sensory play like this supports so much more than science! It helps strengthen fine motor skills through scooping, measuring, and manipulating the ice, encourages cognitive development through observation and problem-solving, and supports social-emotional development as children explore together, share materials, practice patience, and express their excitement and curiosity. ๐
And honestly, it was just as much fun for our teachers to watch the children discover, experiment, and find their own ways to play! ๐ฅฐ
Learning doesnโt always have to happen inside a classroom โ sometimes the best lessons happen right on the playground! ๐ฑ๐ง๐ฌ

๐ท Meet Ms. Sam! ๐ท
Ms. Sam is so much more than our Director here at Celebree School of Westminster. With 13 years in early childhood education, she has dedicated so much of her life to caring for children, supporting families, and being there for the people around her. ๐
Ms. Sam joined our Westminster Celebree family in 2021. Youโll often find her greeting families at drop-off and pick-up, checking in on classrooms, or jumping in wherever sheโs needed! ๐ฅฐ
What makes Ms. Sam so special is the heart she brings to our school. She is someone our staff and families can always count on โ whether itโs answering a question, helping through a difficult moment, or simply lending a listening ear. ๐ค
She works hard to keep everything running smoothly, but more importantly, she makes the people around her feel seen, heard, supported, and cared for. We are so lucky to have Ms. Sam leading our Celebree family! ๐ธ๐

Choosing the right preschool starts with knowing what to look for. ๐
When visiting an early learning center, pay attention to how teachers interact with children, whether classrooms encourage curiosity and independence, how the school communicates with families, and how learning is individualized for each child.
Celebree's Director of Learning and Development, Stefanie Shurer, shared her expertise with Care.com on these topics and more, helping families navigate preschool readiness and choose a program that feels right for their child.

Deep learning only happens when little ones feel safe! ๐ก๏ธ๐
At Celebree, we understand that children must trust that they are in a safe, open, welcoming space for them to achieve their fullest potential.
We're proud to provide a secure environment where children feel comfortable to explore, take developmentally appropriate risks, and blossom into who they are destined to become. With our support, they'll build a solid foundation for a lifetime of success. ๐โจ

๐ฎโโ๏ธ๐ Learning From Our Community! ๐๐ฎโโ๏ธ
On Monday, Major Bryan Waser from the Maryland Capitol Police, Bureau Chief of Administrative Services and Commander of the Emergency Response Team, stopped by to spend some time with our School Age friends!
Major Waser shared about his 30-year career in law enforcement and talked with the children about the importance of respect, staying safe, and being a good Samaritan. ๐
Our School Age friends had the opportunity to ask questions, learn from his experiences, and gain some valuable lessons about making safe and responsible choices. We are so thankful to Major Waser for taking the time to visit our school and share his knowledge with our students! ๐๐ฎโโ๏ธ

๐ฆโ๏ธ TOMORROW IS OUR LAST SPLASH DAY! โ๏ธ๐ฆ
We are so excited for one last day of water play! To help us be as prepared as possible and make the most of our time outside, please make sure your child comes to school with the following:
๐ฉฑ Bathing suit already on โ This allows our teachers to go straight outside during their scheduled water play time instead of taking time to change everyone beforehand!
๐ฉด Water shoes already on โ This is another huge help for our teachers and allows us to get outside and ready to play much quicker!
๐งด Sunscreen applied before arrival โ Please make sure your child has sunscreen on before coming to school.
๐งบ A labeled towel โ Please send in a towel with your childโs name clearly labeled.
๐ A complete change of clothes โ Please send in a labeled change of clothes for your child to put on after water play.
๐ซ PLEASE NO PLASTIC BAGS! ๐ซ
We cannot have plastic bags in the classrooms. If you are sending your childโs extra clothes in a bag, please use a drawstring bag or simply place the clothes inside their book bag.
Water play is such a fun opportunity for our children to explore and learn through hands-on experiences! ๐ฆ It encourages fine and gross motor development, hand-eye coordination, sensory exploration, problem-solving, social skills, language development, and so much more. ๐ฅฐ
While we wait for everyone to get changed after water play, towels may also be used for some fun classroom games and activities!
Thank you so much for helping us prepare our friends for their LAST Splash Day and for helping our teachers maximize every minute of water play! ๐ฆโ๏ธ We canโt wait to make it the best one yet! ๐ฅฐ

๐ Meet Ms. Brooke! ๐
Ms. Brooke has been with us for a couple of years now, and youโll mostly see her around during the summer and early fall! She then heads back to college for the winter and spring, where she is currently studying nursing! ๐ฉบ๐
Youโll often find Ms. Brooke in Infant B assisting Ms. Kaylee, but she is always ready to jump in wherever and whenever she is needed! She has such a big heart for our little ones, and her love for these children always shines through. ๐ฅฐ
We absolutely love having Ms. Brooke with us for the few months we get to spend with her each year, and we miss her so much when sheโs away! ๐ Weโre so lucky to have her as part of our team! โจ๏ฟผ
