Hey classmates: The following information was issued by the Kiwanis Club of Westminster about the benefit concert my Kingston Trio tribute group, the Three Jolly Coachmen, will be doing next month. I would LOVE to see you guys there! It's going to be great fun. -- Greg

Greg Davy (WHS Class of ’73) and his bandmates in the “Three Jolly Coachmen,” a Kingston Trio tribute band in their 19th year, will perform at The Carroll County Arts Center on Friday, October 24, at 7 p.m. in a benefit concert for the Kiwanis Club of Westminster.

George Grove, a 41-year member of the Kingston Trio, has said that “The Three Jolly Coachmen are one of the best Kingston Trio tribute groups I’ve ever heard…and I mean it! Congratulations…everybody does their homework and then presents it with care and love, and it shows.”

Kiwanis Club International is a global volunteer support group for communities, and especially kids. Locally, the 90-year old Westminster club is a major sponsor with the Carroll County
Public Library’s Battle of the Books each year, sponsors high school Key Clubs and the Aktion Club, gives scholarships to students from the Carroll County Career and Technology Center and has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars back to the community.

General admission is $30, with a limited number of VIP tickets at $70. VIP tickets will include admission at 5:15 pm for a “Meet and Greet” with Greg and the band, reserved seating in the front two rows, heavy hors d’oeuvres and a complimentary beer or glass of wine.

Hey, Classmates! I would like to invite you to something that will be a lot of fun that also will benefit the kids of the Westminster and greater Carroll County community. It has been my pleasure for the last 18 years to be a member of the Three Jolly Coachmen, which sings in tribute to The Kingston Trio, the group that arguably was the top popular music group in America and much of the world from 1957 until 1964, when the Beatles came along and changed the face of pop music forever.

We will perform a concert the evening of Friday, Oct. 24, at the Carroll Theater in downtown Westminster to benefit the Kiwanis Club of Westminster. Since 1932, Westminster Kiwanians have supported Carroll County's children and developed tomorrow’s leaders. Kiwanis members have been instrumental in supporting major community projects such as establishing Carroll County General Hospital (now Carroll Hospital Center), Westminster Fire Department expansion, creation of the Westminster Boys and Girls Club, and support of the Carroll County Public Library. Currently Kiwanis is supporting a Student of the Month Program in cooperation the Carroll County Public Schools and Carroll County Food Sunday. Kiwanians continually investigate new ways to address challenges faced by youth of the community.

We have performed at the Carroll Theater twice before, but it's been a few years. We look forward to returning to help the Kiwanis Club of Westminster make a difference in the lives of kids in the Carroll County community, as well as provide a really fun evening of entertainment that will take you back to some songs you may have heard as you were growing up. It will also be great to see my classmates since our 50th year reunion in 2023!
