Nominate a student who has overcome obstacles!

The Adams County Mayors and Youth Awards Nominations is NOW OPEN. ANYONE is allowed to nominate a young person between 6th grade to 20 years old that either goes to school or lives in Adams County who has navigated adversity and has been noticed for resilience. These are such special awards that are a huge collaboration between 10 municipalities: Adams County Government, CO and all of our amazing cities, City of Thornton, Colorado Government, City of Westminster, City of Arvada Government, City of Northglenn Government, City of Brighton, Colorado Government, City Government of Commerce City, of Federal Heights, Bennett School District 29J, Aurora, Colorado City Hall Students receive a financial award and multiple prizes along with a recognition banquet between all cities. Dream Plan Do! She is a Westy grad!

Apprenticeships are creating more opportunities for women to excel in traditionally male-dominated industries.

👩‍🔧💻 At , we’re proud to empower young women like Michelle Martinez Barrandey as they break barriers and lead in fields like law, IT, and engineering.

Michelle’s journey began with a leap of faith—one QR code led her to an apprenticeship at Law Firm, where she discovered her passion for patent law and engineering. While balancing her role at the firm with full-time studies, Michelle is gaining skills and confidence to pursue a career in mechanical engineering and, eventually, patent law.

Her story is proof that youth apprenticeships open doors, ignite passions, and create pathways to meaningful careers.
