Comments

While I haven’t been able to comment each day, I could not let this week go by with out a moment of recognition.
The day I decided to move our family to Carroll Lutheran School was a tough decision. However, there has not been a day that has gone by where I have regretted that decision. Thanks to the fabulous staff and teachers, our children are getting an amazing education.
Having two parents that are educators I know and have witnessed the sacrifices you make. Thank you for all you do. We miss you so much. 😘🤗

From last year's Wacky Tacky Spirit Day. I miss you all! 💜
Today 6th grade students studied Newtons’s First Law of Motion by completing the Inertia Tower Challenge. Students had to work together so that a balanced force acted on the tower, if balanced the tower would stay standing. Here is a video showing their success!
This past week Middle School Students worked through the Engineering Design Process to brainstorm, plan, build and improve a design. Students designed a prototype of a bridge that would be used on Mars to transport materials. The bridge had to be made from notecards and clay, support 50 grams and be at least 2 inches tall. Students were inventive with their designs!
We were out shopping for our Operation Christmas Child gift boxes today, and we ran into Mrs. Gilbart doing the same!!!!

Have you packed your shoebox, yet????

We took the kids to the Museum of the Bible today. In the children’s area a guide comes in and tells all the kids to gather while he tells the story of Passover.

The guide asked almost rhetorically if anyone knew the first plague. Aksel (our first grader) raised his hand and answered. This went on through the entire story. Aksel could name every plague in the correct order! I asked Aksel when it was over how he memorized all the plagues in order. His answer didn’t even surprise me, “Mrs. Ferguson taught me”.

Mrs. Ferguson is amazing! Thank you for so effectively tucking the words of the Bible away in our children’s hearts ♥️
The 6th and 7th graders are having an awesome time at Outdoor School. On Thursday the students spent the morning learning about the Chesapeake Bay Watershed by testing water samples from Hashawha. In the afternoon the students explored a wetland area and identified key parts and purposes of a wetland. Students also developed action plans on how to save wetland areas.

‘A year of unprecedented growth’: Carroll County private schools did best to maintain in-person education amid COVID

A citation request submitted to Governor Hogan by a parent and awarded to Mrs. Gilbart for her leadership this past school year is representative of the effort and dedication she shows to the school, the students, the families, and the staff. In an unprecedented year with Covid-19 restrictions, Mrs. Gilbart led CLS to a full-year of 170 days of in-person instruction without any school related Covid-19 outbreaks.

This is an amazing article which features a detailed interview with Mrs. Gilbart. If you know of anyone looking for a private, K-8 education, please share this article with them.

Last week at chapel we heard the story of the Feeding of the 5,000+. The message really was just perfect as we formally roll out our Vision 2030 Campaign. The sermon said: “I know Jesus definitely made a miracle happen that day. He made that bread and fish multiply to feed all those people and more. But maybe it was not the only miracle. Maybe Jesus knew that when one person is generous in a big way, others just might want to be generous too!” Join us in being generous by making a donation or pledge to the Vision 2030 Campaign. For more information visit clsvision2030.org.

Critical Thinking Capacity, Forging Character 04/05/2021

Critical Thinking Capacity, Forging Character

Think about the last time you received a gift.

Got it? ✔︎

Let me guess... it was a personalized gift - not something generic.

You know the feeling when you open a gift, and it's special -- something you really wanted or needed -- and the person who gave it to you recognized that it would mean a lot instead of just grabbing something from the store. How did it make you feel?

That's how we view our children's learning here at Carroll Lutheran School. Each child is unique, so we pride ourselves in providing personalized attention to each and every student at our school.

We know that providing instruction and opportunities that meet the needs of each student will maximize potential.

Our goals go beyond just exceeding state and federal standards. It is our mission to provide effective classroom instruction, so all students achieve at high levels...

Every child. Every day. Whatever it takes.

Critical Thinking Capacity, Forging Character At Carroll Lutheran School, we provide an exceptional education for each child of God with individual support. Our students achieve academic excellence and develop kindness for others.
