A new $25,000 scholarship has been established by Target Community & Educational Services, Inc. in honor of McDanielโ€™s 10th president, Dr. Julia Jasken. In honor of National Deaf History Month and Deaf History Month in Maryland, we are highlighting our M.S. in Deaf Education via McDaniel College Graduate and Professional Studies. It was Spirit Week on the second floor of Merritt Hall! Members of McDaniel College Graduate and Professional Studies and the Education Department donned their holiday sweaters and participated in a door decorating contest and a silent auction with proceeds to be donated to Home on the Hill. The Home on the Hill program supports students who experience food and/or housing insecurity by providing housing during college breaks, a food pantry, clothing, toiletries, and other necessities.
Monday, November 1 is National Author's Day! Celebrate with us next week with two events featuring published writers in the McDaniel community.
Monday evening's virtual event "Unleash Your Inner Author" features B. Sharise Moore and Jared Reck, two former students in the Writing for Children and Young Adults graduate certificate program through McDaniel College Graduate and Professional Studies, who have found success in the publishing world.

Show Your GPS Green Terror Pride!
The 2022 Graduate and Professional Student Appreciation Week will be celebrated April 4-8, 2022. This annual recognition was started in 1993 by the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students to support, appreciate, and emphasize the contributions, impact, and value of graduate and professional students on campus, in their workplace and in communities throughout the United States.

In recognition of this week, McDaniel Graduate and Professional Studies will be celebrating with several activities throughout the week. All students who participate in the various events throughout the week will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of three free graduate courses and some awesome McDaniel swag. The more you participate, the more chances you will have to win.

GPS Strategic Planning Process Virtual SWOT Analysis Session

As part of McDaniel College strategic planning process, we would like to invite current and former graduate students to a SWOT analysis session. A SWOT analysis is an exercise which helps guide institutions in planning for organizational growth. SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. Raekwon Conaway, graduate student in our Public Administration program and current graduate student representative on the McDaniel Board of Directors will be facilitating this session. Join us and share your thoughts and ideas on how we can improve the student graduate experience. Attendees will get a chance to win a free graduate course.

Tune into this interactive session to get a full understanding of graduate learning expectations, setting goals, taking charge of your learning, developing habits of mind and more. Laura Gillen, alumni of our Master of Science in Innovations in Teaching and Learning program, will be the presenter of this session which she created as part of her capstone project based on the ITL programโ€™s brain-based learning course.
