The natural environment is everything around us including air, water, land and plants. It is essential to teach children at a young age about how to take care of and respect our environment. Environmental education helps children connect to the world around them by teaching them how they can make a difference through their actions. Environmental education, such as learning about the three 3 R's, helps children understand that their actions matter and encourages them to participate in earth friendly practices. We can help foster these learning experiences by including children when sorting recyclables, picking up trash during the community walk or using recycled items to play or make art with. This exposes them to opportunities to help the Earth. 

Learning about superhero powers is a great way for children to access their creative thinking skills. It is important to encourage children to generate new ideas that promote their innovative spirits. For example, children can be given challenges such as how to blow materials over with their "super breath" or how to navigate an obstacle course with their "super speed." Grown-ups play an important role in nurturing children's creative abilities. Children are innately creative and imaginative but they need help to tap into those abilities. We can provide children with the space, materials and enthusiasm to foster their own creative powers.
