Transform ordinary stitches into something extraordinary with a Wing Needle. This uniquely shaped needle manipulates fibers in a way you never thought possible. Pattie will share tips on fabric selection, proper stabilizing methods and identifying the best stitches to use with the wing needle. In this class, Joe will personally measure each class attendee giving them the accurate measurements that will enable them to make a pattern on muslin and transpose on to paper. He will personally fit the muslin to your body. You will be shown how adapt your pattern for a tailored look, a Palazzo pant, a skinny leg or a wide leg. You will be provided with all the supplies you need to draft the pattern on muslin and transpose it to paper which you will take home. This pattern will enable you to make a pair of pants that will fit your unique figure. Body forms will be provided, or you may bring your own.

Binding—it’s the last step to finish your quilts. But that old cliché about saving the best for last, does not apply. Bindings can be troublesome for many quilters. Whether you are stuck on the width of the binding strip, or feel your finished bindings look a bit wonky, expert educator LuAnn Hartley, will show you how to solve the binding woes.

Learn how to cut your fabric with no wavy edges, how to connect the ends for continuous binding, plus how to bind corners for that perfect miter. See how to cut binding strips on the bias and what fabrics make bias bindings really pop.

LuAnn will have a variety of samples showing several binding styles with recommendations for when to use them, including a darling scallop edge. As a bonus LuAnn will discuss how to perfect your bindings for competition quilts. No matter how long you have been quilting this is a can’t miss class. Your quilt tops are waiting!
