There is something so exciting about watching an infant discover that they can move, explore, and get where they want to go!
Crawling is a major developmental milestone for infants, supporting growing strength, coordination, balance, spatial awareness, and independence.

In our 6–12 month infant room, we celebrate these little moments because we know just how BIG they are! Our infant program thrives on a balance of individualized learning and group experiences. Every baby develops at their own pace, so we meet each child where they are—while also giving them opportunities to learn alongside their friends. ❤️

As the weather changes and fall arrives, our learning grows right along with it! We are exploring the sights, sounds, smells, textures, and science of the season by creating our very own pumpkin patches. Through hands-on experiences, children are discovering how pumpkins grow, what they feel and smell like, and what happens when we explore their seeds, pulp, and different textures.

Our October themes provide opportunities for sensory play, observation, experimentation, and imaginative learning—all while celebrating the beauty and changes that come with fall.

The first year is filled with incredible growth! Every smile, wiggle, reach, babble, and new movement is a little step in your baby’s development.
In our infant setting, we intentionally create a warm, responsive environment where babies can feel safe, build relationships, explore, move, and learn at their own pace. 🌱

What are infants working on during the day?
👀 Exploring with their senses
**Looking, listening, touching, tasting, and observing the world around them helps babies build early understanding.
🤲 Developing motor skills
**Tummy time, reaching, grasping, rolling, sitting, crawling, and eventually pulling up give babies opportunities to strengthen their bodies and coordination.
🗣️ Building communication
**Babies learn through talking, singing, reading, facial expressions, gestures, and responsive back-and-forth interactions.
💞 Building secure relationships
**Consistent, caring interactions help infants develop trust and learn that their caregivers are there to respond to their needs.
🧠 Learning through repetition and play

We had the sweetest time celebrating Grandparents’ Day together! From reading special stories and creating beautiful art to sharing smiles, hugs, and little classroom moments, our day was full of memories we’ll treasure. 📚🎨🥰

Fine Motor Skills at The Learning Experience👍😊
At this age, children are developing the hand strength and coordination they need for everyday tasks such as:
-Holding and using crayons and pencils
-Turning pages in books
-Using utensils
-Opening containers and manipulating toys
-Buttoning, zipping, and dressing themselves
-Eventually developing the control needed for writing

Lacing requires children to grasp, hold, pull, and guide an object through a hole.
This supports:
Hand-eye coordination – coordinating what they see with how their hands move.
Pincer grasp – strengthening the thumb and fingers used to pick up and manipulate small objects.
Hand strength – preparing the muscles for drawing, cutting, and other practical tasks.
Bilateral coordination – learning to use both hands together, with one hand holding while the other works.
Concentration and persistence – encouraging children to focus on a task and keep trying when it is challenging.
Independence – giving children opportunities to practice doing something for themselves.

🌟 STUDENT SPOTLIGHT: ALEKSANDER! 🌟

We’re shining the spotlight on our friend Aleksander, a Preschool 3 star who has been growing, learning, and leading in so many wonderful ways! 💙✨

Aleks has been working hard on his fine motor skills while building confidence with important early learning concepts like shapes, numbers, object identification, sorting, and patterning. Through hands-on learning and play, he continues to strengthen the skills that will help him become a confident, capable learner. 🧩🔢🔷

But learning at TLE is about more than academics! Aleks has also become an amazing classroom leader, learning what it means to be an active and caring member of his classroom, our TLE community, and the world around him. From making thoughtful choices to participating with his friends and teachers, he is discovering the importance of teamwork, responsibility, kindness, and community. 🤝💙

We are so proud of everything Aleks has accomplished and the early learning skills he has mastered along the way. His curiosity, leadership, and enthusiasm make him a true TLE star! ⭐

Now, Aleks is ready to take on a new year of learning, new adventures, and new milestones — and we can’t wait to see where his curiosity takes him! 🚀📚
