Good rising to you alllllllll

If you happen to be amongst parents who want their children to get in to college and have a good life, you must remember few little details. A side from AP and honors classes, foreign language requirements, dual enrollment with local community colleges and virtual school supplementations, high school students need to learn that life is longer than the road to college.
As I continue to see anxious parents and students in my office, one this is for sure they all seem overwhelmed and paralyzed by the onslaught of information given to them. I often tell parents that their beloved children not only have to juggle the ever growing list of requirements but they find a balance between achievement, personal growth which includes compassion, empathy and awareness of they have become. I do wish that through the college application phase students would be gaged based on their community involvement, intellectual ability aside from taking classes and scoring high on SATs and of course their interest in the greater good of the world as well. But for now all I can advise parents who are getting ready to either send their children on their first college experience or those who are getting ready for the application phase, make sure you breath and let your children know that schools do look at the longevity of all activities and that at the end quality matters more than quantity.
