The dates for Pizazz Music Camp the summer on 2026 will be July 20-24, so try to plan your family vacations or other camps around keeping that week open. Daily Schedule: Monday through Thursday: 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Friday: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. – Students bring a lunch and stay to rehearse the performance.

The reason Pizazz Music Camp was created and continues for one week each summer since 1993 (except for 2 pandemic years). 🎶

Learning music in childhood does more than just teach kids to play an instrument—it strengthens the brain in remarkable ways. Studies show that musical training activates multiple areas of the brain at once, improving memory and attention. Children who practice music often develop better recall skills, as their brains learn to store and retrieve complex patterns of notes, rhythms, and lyrics. This mental workout creates stronger connections between brain regions, which benefits overall cognitive development.

Interestingly, music also links closely with mathematics. Rhythm, timing, and musical structure share similarities with math concepts like fractions, patterns, and ratios. When music lessons are connected to math learning, children often perform better in problem-solving and numerical reasoning. Over time, these skills can boost confidence in both academics and creativity. In short, music training in childhood is not just an art—it is a tool that enhances brain growth, memory, and even logical thinking.

Pizazz Music Camp for 2025 (its 31st year) starts tomorrow morning at 9 am. There are 64 participants who look forward to having fun while learning to sing songs, ring handbells & choir chimes, and dance to music with this year’s Animal Antics theme. So thankful for the predicted cooler temperatures than in many years when it’s been in the 90s! www.PizazzMusicCamp.org 🎶
