THE STUDO SERIES: MODERN AMERICAN VOICES

In this 8-week Studio Series, actors will dive into contemporary American plays and explore the characters, relationships, and worlds inside them. We’ll read and investigate the material, uncover what’s happening beneath the words, and then get it on its feet through scene work, rehearsal, coaching, and experimentation.
Along the way, students will explore different acting techniques and discover how tools like objectives, subtext, listening, relationships, circumstances, and character work can completely change a performance. The goal is to help actors move beyond simply “saying the lines” and learn how to make thoughtful, specific choices that feel truthful and alive in the context of these incredible works!
Plays may include: John Proctor is the Villain, Speech & Debate, Rabbit Hole, and more!
If you have an actor who is hungry to learn more, try more, and dig deeper into their craft—this is their room.
