The St. Jude The Apostle community came together today for our annual Christmas Tea event! This lovely St. Jude holiday tradition returned this year thanks to the hard work of chairs Jessica Browne and Nadia Lucero along with all of our table hosts, eighth grade entertainers and servers, and volunteers.The joyous event was a festive way to kick off the holiday season and create some sweet memories!

Happy Thanksgiving!🍁 We are grateful to God for our Catholic faith, our family and friends, and for you! Enjoy this Thanksgiving day and may God bless you and yours!

Our Middle school has been busy! SJS students ventured off to Astrocamp to build upon their teamwork skills as they navigated zip lines, a ropes course, built rockets and made discoveries on a fun night hike!

We also had our first Middle School Information Night this week! As always, our wonderful PTG put together a magical evening for parents to enjoy as we were treated to impressive school tours given by students. Our own St. Jude parent and alumna, Dr. Kara Lemma, delivered a thought provoking speech on the "Top Ten" Benefits of a Middle School Education in a K-8 School. We pray to you Lord on this All Souls Day. In your grace You promise us that those who die still live in Your presence. Their spirits have simply been transformed but have not ended. We pray in gratitude and hope for our families, relatives and friends that have gone before us, and for all those that have passed known to You alone.

Accompanied with Jesus Christ who died and rose from the dead and now lives and reigns with you in unity with the Holy Spirit. May they rejoice in Your kingdom as you unite us together again this sacred day. Amen

Today we celebrated Dia De Los Mu***os with a very special memorial prayer service led by Father Jim, followed by the students viewing the class Ofrendas. The children were then surprised with hot cocoa in the courtyard and a Mariachi band music show! We finished this fun morning with a round of Happy Birthday sung to Mr. Carlos by the whole school!

With special thanks, we are beyond grateful for Mrs. Enos and all the parent volunteers who made today a truly heart-warming celebration of the lives we have loved. This is sure to be a new St. Jude tradition for years to come!

Today, the fifth grade led us in Mass for the feast of St. Jude. Our patron saint, Saint Jude was one of the Twelve Apostles appointed by Jesus to lead his Church. He is the one we can go to in times of trouble, frustration, loneliness, despair, a broken heart, and other difficult situations. Saint Jude, pray for us!

Halloweens past - 1982 and beyond! Enchanted and creepy costumes, Halloween parades, trick-or-treat carnivals and spooky games have always been magical traditions at St. Jude!

The evening will begin with an information session from our principal and middle school staff. Families can browse and ask questions at our informational fair booths featuring various teachers, staff, coaches, current middle school parents, PTG members, alumni, and take a student-led tour of the school.

We'd like to extend a special invite to our current parents, 3rd - 5th grades, and to any parents interested in our school!

We had a great time yesterday at the T.O. Rotary Street Fair!

We are beyond blessed to have a community that feels like family when we get together. It was our treat to be able to share that with new families that stopped by!

If you weren’t able to make it, come by our Middle School Information Night on November 9 at 6 PM for student led tours, information booths and more! Even if your child is still in elementary, you’re invited to join us in November to get a glimpse of what SJS is all about.

Jogathons PAST - A St. Jude Tradition! See anyone you know? We have a current staff member, parent and grandparent. Msgr. Thomas O'Connell, our founder, jogged in his glorious blue, 80's tracksuit! Students rocked the green shorts and yellow shirts (many tucked in, of course). Through the years, SJS students running their annual laps have raised money for playground and office equipment, the kindergarten yard and so much more! We are forever grateful for our sponsors, past and present, who have contributed to the betterment of our school! Tomorrow is the 2021 Team Jaguar Jogathon and it will most certainly be a continued celebration of what all that makes SJS amazing! GO JAGUARS!

Catholic school - Check! Doughnuts - Check! Prayers before bed - Check! Sacraments....working on it! Do you want to know the key to keeping your kids Catholic into young adulthood? YOU. There is nothing more important than parents living their faith as an example to our children.

But let's not forget the doughnuts. Admittedly, not the most important factor, the kids will be excited to know there will be plenty of doughnuts available tomorrow, September 26th, for our monthly Families on F.I.R.E. at 9 am! Join other families along with our amazing faith formation team to come together in fun and faith, building a strong community at St. Jude The Apostle Church! All are welcome!

Mass times are conveniently at 8am or 10am. So come on over and let's work together as a community to give our children the most important gift they will ever receive! Hope to see you there!
