What happens when young people use social media to raise awareness? 🤳

As part of this year's Torch Club National Project, Notter Club members explored "The Hidden Crisis: Addressing Youth Homelessness in Our Communities." They created mock social media posts designed to educate others about the realities of youth homelessness and the resources available to help.

From researching facts and statistics to developing creative content, members took the lead in turning awareness into action. Their project demonstrates how youth can use their voices and the platforms they know best to spark important conversations and create positive change.

Today we celebrate Lisa Barron on her last day at the Club after 18 incredible years. ❤️

As Morton Club Director, Lisa has spent nearly two decades creating a space where young people felt safe, supported, encouraged, and truly seen. Her impact can be felt in every corner of our Club community, from the programs she helped shape to the relationships she built with youth, families, schools, and staff along the way.

"Lisa came into my life during one of the hardest periods I had ever faced. While dealing with my parents’ divorce and my mom’s battle with cancer, Boys & Girls Club became a safe place for me, Lisa’s kindness and guidance gave me stability when I needed it most. The discipline, resilience, and study habits I learned through the Boys & Girls Club stayed with me throughout my life and ultimately helped me immensely throughout law school and to pass the California Bar Exam." - Carlos, Former Club Member

Thank you, Lisa, for 18 years of leading with heart and helping create brighter futures every single day.

This spring, Club members are exploring the natural world around them through Ultimate Journeys, our hands-on STEM enrichment program designed to spark curiosity and creativity. Members visited the LV Water Plant for a tour with Mayor Jeremy Wolfe, where they learned about water systems, sustainability, and the important work that helps keep our communities running.đź’§

🎓👏 For Graduation Rally Day, we’re celebrating Jacob T. and Quinton T., graduating seniors and longtime members of the Catlin Club!

From their middle school days at the Club to becoming Keystone members and leaders, we’ve had the privilege of watching them grow into thoughtful, driven young adults ready for what’s next.

Graduation photos may capture the milestone, but they don’t show the years of mentorship, friendship, encouragement, and growth that helped get them here. We’re so proud of Jacob and Quinton and can’t wait to see where their journeys take them next. ❤️

If you didn’t know, here’s what graduation looks like with Boys & Girls Clubs:
- 97% of Club kids expect to graduate high school
- 81% of Club seniors have applied for post-secondary education
- 9 in 10 Club teens feel confident about getting a job

That’s what happens when kids have the support they need, from first grade to their first job. Join us in celebrating the Class of 2026 at Boys & Girls Clubs Conejo. Because with a diploma in hand, there’s nothing Club Kids can’t do. Support our future leaders at BGCA.org/Graduation.

Our Club members hit the road for a week of college visits, real-world learning, and unforgettable experiences. Each day brought a new campus, new inspiration, and a closer look at what their futures can hold, and what it takes to get there. Visits included Cal State University Northridge, Moorpark College, Cal Lutheran University, and NVOC Aviation Center.

We loved joining PENNYMAC for their 3rd Annual Volunteer Fair! At our booth, attendees got to literally build a kid’s future—using blocks to represent the impact volunteers can make.

From tutoring and mentoring to hands-on opportunities, the event sparked meaningful conversations and new connections. We’re grateful for the partnership and excited to see these connections turn into action. 💙

What a finish to our flag football championship! The Anderson Club took home the trophy, with Morton Club close behind after a strong run.

Shoutout to our skills challenge winners: Andre (40-yard dash), Joaquin (distance), John-Max (broad jump), and Ivik (accuracy) 👏

Huge thanks to our staff and coaches—Coby, JK, Debbie, Sean, Tony, and Clay—for making it all happen. It was a day to remember! 🏆
