OC New Zealand Educational Science and Service Trip

Another great day - starting with a breakfast French Toast at the Greedy Cow that I am certain they will serve in Heaven. Stopped at the Church of the Good Shepherd where the kids skipped rocks and a few daring ones swam in the freezing cold water. The. We sang the Alma Mater inside the chapel. We stopped for “the best pies in Nee Zealand.” We took them with us for our picnic lunch overlooking a beautiful gorge. From there is was onto Quake City in Christchurch. It is amazing to hear the stories of how the big quake(s) of 2010 and 2011 devastated this city - with some areas that will never be open again. The Kiwis are wonderfully charitable and kind people who pull together in good times and hard times. Now we are checked into our last hotel for the trip. Tomorrow is our service day.

Moving fast across the New Zealand landscape with little WiFi or time for posting. Here is a quick summary of Wednesday. From our Air B&B at Lake Tekapo, it was on to Mount Cook for Glacier Exploration and hiking the Ho**er Valley trail.

We have arrived on the South Island and are settled in to our Air B&B for the night. Tomorrow it is on to Mount Hood. We are exhausted but having an amazing adventure. Tonight was the night sky reserve. God parted the clouds and gave us a glimpse of HIS GLORY.

After landing in NZ at 6AM on Saturday, we headed toward Waitimo for our high adventure activity in the afternoon. Here is a sampling of the GLORY we experienced on the Rappel.
