Curiosity is at the heart of every Montessori classroom. 🤔 Children are encouraged to ask questions, explore new ideas, solve problems, and discover how the world works through hands-on experiences. At Apple Montessori Schools, we're always looking for meaningful ways to build on that foundation—which is why we're excited to continue offering TinkRworks, our optional STEAM enrichment program for children ages 4 and up.

TinkRworks blends science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) into engaging, project-based experiences that encourage children to build, experiment, invent, and create. More than just a STEAM program, it's an opportunity for children to strengthen their critical thinking, creativity, and confidence while having fun bringing their ideas to life.

The end of summer can sometimes bring a brief pause in the family routine. Summer camp has wrapped up, the school year has not quite begun, and children may suddenly have a few extra days at home. While this in-between week can feel challenging for busy families, it can also be a wonderful opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and help children prepare for the transition ahead.

You don't need to recreate a classroom or plan elaborate activities to bring Montessori principles into your home. At its heart, Montessori is about respecting children as capable individuals, encouraging independence, and giving them meaningful opportunities to participate in everyday life.

With schools closed this week in between summer camp and the beginning of the new school year, our team assembled for some leadership development today. We left feeling invigorated for the coming school year and all that awaits, and we can’t wait to welcome the children into our buildings next week! 🫶🏻🍎

In Montessori, even the simplest tasks hold great purpose.

The Dry Pouring activity helps young children from the age of 2 years strengthen coordination, concentration, and confidence as they carefully pour from one pitcher to another. It’s more than practice — it’s preparation for real life. Each pour builds independence, focus, and pride in doing meaningful work “all by myself.”

Each year on August 31, we celebrate the birthday of Dr. Maria Montessori, the pioneering educator, physician, and advocate whose ideas transformed the way the world understands childhood.

Born in Italy in 1870, Maria Montessori challenged the expectations of her time to become one of the country’s first female physicians. Through her scientific observation of children, she developed an educational approach built around a powerful belief: children are naturally curious, capable, and eager to learn when given the right environment and support.

More than 150 years after her birth, her influence can still be felt in classrooms around the world—and every day at Apple Montessori Schools:

Maria Montessori believed that children learn best by doing. That principle remains at the heart of the Montessori classroom today.

During your scheduled group tour, you'll get the chance to explore our brand-new location and first in Pennsylvania. Visit our beautiful classrooms and outdoor learning spaces, and discover what makes Apple Montessori Schools so special.

To help you experience the programs most relevant to your family, tours will be offered at the following times on 9/2:

• 12:00 PM – Preschool
• 2:00 PM – Infant

We're sad to see the end of Summer Camp 2026, but it was full of amazing memories for our campers and staff alike! We hope you had as much fun as we did this summer, and can't wait to see you all again next year 😍
