Congratulations to Andrew Beaulieu, WSU Grad and former Student Security Chief, on his promotion to Lieutenant! WELL DESERVED!

Chief Chad Alexander is pleased to announce the promotion of Lieutenant Andrew Beaulieu (and of course, K9 Gino)! With the recent promotion of Chief Alexander, this created a vacant Lieutenant position.

Lieutenant Beaulieu started his career in the law enforcement field in 2010, as a Records Clerk for the Holyoke Police Department. In 2011, he was hired in Provincetown, MA as a Summer Special Police Officer, where he was a full-time officer for 2 summers. In 2012, he became a part-time officer in Blandford, MA, and a full-time Emergency 911 Dispatcher for the Holyoke Police Department. In 2013, he was also hired as a part-time officer here in Easthampton.

Lieutenant Beaulieu graduated the 52nd ROC at the Western Mass Academy in Springfield, MA in 2015, beginning his career here as a full-time police officer. In 2017, he was assigned as the department’s first K9 Handler, when he began working with K9 Gino. In 2019, the team was promoted to the rank of Detective, and then promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2022.

Some of the roles that Lieutenant Beaulieu has had throughout his career with the department include Public Information Officer, Field Training Officer, Fire Investigator, Marine Unit Officer, Honor Guard Member, Dog Hearing Officer, Bike Patrol Officer, and Union President. He also organizes events such as our annual Stuff-A-Cruiser drive for the Easthampton Community Center, and manages our Internship Program. He currently holds the position of Treasurer for the Massachusetts Police Work Dog Association. In addition to the department, Lieutenant Beaulieu serves as an instructor at the MPTC Holyoke Police Academy, where he teaches CPR/First Responder, Patrol Procedures, Active Shooter, and Applied Patrol Procedures.

Lieutenant Beaulieu graduated from Holyoke Catholic High School, Class of 2008. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Cultural Studies (Spanish) in 2012 from Westfield State University, where he served as the Chief of Student Security during his time there. In 2017, he completed his Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from there as well. He is also a certified EMT.

Throughout his career, Lieutenant Beaulieu has received numerous Lifesaving Awards, Meritorious Conduct Awards, and Merit Awards, from the Easthampton Police Department. He also received a MA House of Representatives Citation in 2019, and a Lifesaving Award from the Western MA Emergency Medical Services Committee in 2020.

Lieutenant Beaulieu is a resident of Easthampton, where he resides with his wife, Tammie, and their young daughter and son. During his time off, he enjoys traveling with family, watching the Red Sox, and displaying his antique police cars.

A sincere congratulations to Chief Hennick, WSU graduate and former Student Security Officer! We wish you all the best!!

The Town of Provincetown is pleased to announce that Town Manager Alex Morse has selected Greg Hennick to serve as the next Police Chief of the Provincetown Police Department, pending successful contract negotiations. The Select Board confirmed Chief Hennick’s appointment at their May 12, 2025 meeting.
▪️
Hennick’s selection follows an extensive search and community engagement process initiated earlier this year. In January, the Town launched a comprehensive Police Chief Search Process that prioritized transparency, public input, and collaboration. The process included the formation of a Search Committee of local residents representing diverse perspectives, a community survey, listening sessions, and a rigorous assessment of final candidates.

A Salem, Massachusetts native, Greg Hennick brings over 16 years of law enforcement experience to the role. He began his career with the Northampton Police Department before joining the Provincetown Police Department full-time in 2011. Over the past 14 years, Greg has held numerous leadership roles in the department, including Deputy Chief before most recently serving as Acting Police Chief https://buff.ly/fFj975r

Last night we were joined by family members, friends, Select Board members and the Town Clerks Office to celebrate two recent promotions as well as welcome two new(ish) officers.

At a small ceremony held at the police station, Sergeant Dedinas and Sergeant Beatty reaffirmed their oath and were sworn in to the rank of Sergeant. Both Sgt Dedinas and Sgt Beatty graduated the State Police Municipal Academy together and have been dedicated assets to the department ever since. Sgt Dedinas most recently filled the roll of Animal Control Officer and Sgt Beatty is currently the School Resource Officer at Nauset Regional Middle School.

Officers Gallerani and Austin were also celebrated as Town Clerk Kelly Darling swore them in, in front of their friends and family. Officer Gallerani graduated from the Randolph Police Academy in the fall and completed his field training earlier this year. Officer Austin recently graduated from the Plymouth Police Academy and will soon complete her field training and be out on her own around town. Both officers are Cape Cod natives and are excited to be able to serve the community of the Town of Orleans.

We would like to thank everyone who was in attendance for the ceremony and congratulate Sgt Dedinas and Sgt Beatty on their promotions and welcome Ofc Gallerani and Ofc Austin to the ranks. 04/25/2025
