Julia LaFlair, Senior Account Coordinator at CoverMyMeds and will complete the MBA Program in 2025. Her free time is spent investigating "how prescription opioids (specifically Oxycontin) created an epidemic in America." Consider adding Dopesick by Beth Macy, "a great book about the opioid epidemic in America turned Hulu series!" to your reading list.
Her favorite course was MBA 6400 Strategic Marketing with Melissa Fisher, "It was my undergraduate major and it was really cool learning about marketing at the graduate level."
Julia advises students to "Ask for help! I've never met a professor that didn't like helping me when I asked. It's been the reason I've been so successful in classes that were incredibly challenging for me." Followed by Ferris Bueller quote, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop to look around once in a while, you could miss it."

Dr. Hyuk Kim is teaching MBA 6700 Global Competition and World Economy and three undergraduate courses this semester!
A motivational quote from Walk Disney is, "The way you get started is to quit talking and begin doing." In relation to Dr. Kim's academic career, he holds a PhD in Global Management and Strategy from Rutgers. He also holds a master's in International Business and in Global Affairs. Currently, Dr. Kim is a member of the Academy of International Business (AIB) and the global academic society for international business scholars.
Dr. Kim advises "business students and managers should be updated on the major global events since, today, any business (even small local businesses) are affected by the global events as we witnessed from the recent global supply chain crisis. Thus, students should read newspapers or monitor other media everyday to be updated on the changing global market environments."

Sami Ange is Otterbein's Softball Graduate Assistant and works as the Communication Associate at the Westerville Area Resource Ministry. After receiving an undergraduate degree at Otterbein University she pursued higher education within our MBA Program!
Reflecting on her experience within the MBA Program, MBA 5800 Communication and Negotiations was her favorite course.
A motivational quote from Jay Danzie is "Your smile is your logo. Your personality is your business card and the way you make others feel, is your trademark." Additionally, Sami advises students to consider "keeping an open mind and enjoy the little things."

Otterbein MBA Professor, Wes Hunt is teaching MBA 6600 Applied Data Analytics this semester! This course includes guest speakers, hands-on training, and certifications using commercial analytics software.
In his downtime, he enjoys reading any books in the genre of action or adventure. Professor Hunt advises students to "Commit yourself to being a lifelong learner and be open to change."

The Maker Space at The Point at Otterbein University has done a wide range of project from small 3D printing to a giant motorized dragon installation on the roof of the Westerville Public Library.
The typical day includes lots of customizations such as making awards for contracted jobs.
They also hold fun workshop events for groups! Different clubs and departments of the university have utilized these workshops.

A student who completes the free training offered by The Point at Otterbein University will then become certified to use the tools in The Maker Space. The certification process has both an online and in-person component.
The online portion is found on The Point’s website, it directs the user to become a member and create a recursion account. The recursion account is our member platform to access updates on hours, training, waivers, and schedule in person training.
Once you create your account you can pick any of the tools that we offer training on. Users should read the short blurb about the safety of the tool, watch a short video, and take a quiz.
After you take the quiz, you can schedule your in-person training!

The Maker Space at The Point at Otterbein University offers a variety of equipment and tools available to members.
Within the Rapid Prototyping Studio, the Laser Engravers and the 3D Printers are typically used by Otterbein students.
In addition, the Wood Shop and Vinyl Printer are very popular.

Otterbein Maker Space is located at The Point at Otterbein University and is open for use Monday- Saturday.
The Maker Space is composed of several types of equipment such as Advanced Manufacturing Lab, Design Studio, Metal Shop, Rapid Prototyping Studio, and Wood Shop.
The Maker Space provides the opportunity for students, faculty, and members to “build your vision and scale your dream”.
