There are only a few spots left in Vet for a Day event, held Thursday, July 30th at the Ohio State Fair! This event is for high school students exploring careers in veterinary medicine and is hosted by the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association. Registered students will experience fun, hands-on activities with veterinary professionals and learn about education and careers in veterinary medicine. Link in bio.

We offered a new class incorporating veterinary behavior concepts this semester. In lieu of a textbook, we completed the Fear Free Veterinary Professional Certification Program (equine, canine, and feline) and practiced cooperative care and behavior modification skills. We received official approval from the Department of Education to begin offering our new Wildlife and Exotic Animal Veterinary Technology major!

Students will complete coursework within the Department of Equine Science and Zoo and Conservation Science program at Otterbein, as well as the AVMA-accredited vet tech program at Columbus State Community College. Grads will be eligible for licensure as Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) after completing their coursework and passing the VTNE exam. Stay tuned for more details about the curriculum!
