The Westerville Education Foundation is excited to share our spring grants. 👏 🎉
🥫 The Heritage Husky Club aims to ensure students have enough food to fuel their school days and even sends them home with food for the weekends. We know students can’t learn when their basic needs aren’t met, and we’re thankful for our schools stepping up to support students!
🎳 The English Learners Community Activity Club helps EL students from all three high schools connect with their peers, improve their English, and experience American culture through monthly activities like bowling, the zoo, and the movies.
🌌 All students at Emerson Elementary will get to experience the Sky Dome Planetuarum and learn content tailored to their grade level and learning objectives. Students will also create a fine arts project inspired by our amazing solar system!
🌎 Students can share about their own culture and learn about others at Culture Night at Robert Frost! This project will also expand culturally representative books in classroom libraries.
🛞 Rolling Toward Regulation will bring the power of movement to students in the SLC classrooms at Minerva France elementary school. Students will have a therapeutic outlet and gain essential self regulation skills.
🎻 Students at Minerva Park Middle School will work with professional musicians from the Westerville Symphony Orchestra. Through live performance, demonstrations, and coaching sessions, students will experience professional level musicianship while strengthening the music skills they are developing in the classroom.

WEF is proud to have supported a costume shop upgrade for Westerville South’s Theatre Troupe in our spring 2025 grant cycle.
With the shop upgrades, they were able to produce 140 unique pieces for their fall production of Les Miserables—more than six times what they had produced for any show previously.
Congrats to the costume crew on their CAPA Marquee Award nomination!
A new PE unit rolled into elementary schools across the district this year thanks to a spring 2025 WEF grant! 🎉
Students at WCSD elementary schools get to try out roller skating this year thanks to support from WEF. The grant funded the purchase of skates, safety gear, and storage cabinets so that all the skate gear could be shared between buildings. 🛼

Take a look at one project funded by WEF in our fall 2025 grant cycle, VOX Audiobooks! 📚
WEF awarded $1,500 to Hawthorne librarian Monty Maceyko to purchase VOX Audiobooks for the Hawthorne library.
Maceyko applied for the grant with the goal of providing more literacy tools and engaging more students in reading, and that’s exactly what’s happening! 🎉

Each Westerville high school has a WSEF group, all focused on making an impact in their schools and the larger community.
Earlier this month, students from WSEF North took their Real World Wednesday series to Heritage Middle School where they led a cooking lesson. 🧑🍳
While they were there, they also made a donation to the Heritage Food Pantry. 🥫🍞🍎

Student wellness is essential to student success. 💙
This spring, we received several grant applications from Westerville City Schools educators focused on supporting student wellness—from initiatives that help students manage stress and build resilience to projects that encourage healthy movement and well-being.
Now we need your help to say “yes.”
Through the Westerville Education Foundation’s Sponsor a Grant initiative, you can directly fund innovative projects that support student wellness in our schools. Sponsors can give at $250, $500, or $1,000 and direct those funds to student wellness grants.
