📖 This summer, our NCS faculty and staff will be reading Raising Spiritual Champions by George Barna. Barna’s research highlights an important reality: a person’s worldview, values, and understanding of truth are largely shaped during childhood.
💙“While parents bear the primary responsibility for discipling their children, we have a unique opportunity to support and reinforce that work,” Executive Director Mr. Jeff Peterson, who chose the summer read, said. “I believe the book will challenge us to think more intentionally about how children develop convictions, how worldviews are formed, and how we can better partner with families in our shared mission of helping students Learn Christ, Love Christ, and Live Christ. My hope is that this will deepen our conviction that the daily work of Christian education has eternal significance.“
🦁We’re excited to dive into this summer’s read and explore these concepts together in preparation for the fall semester!

🦁Welcome Aboard! We’re excited to announce the hiring of Ms. Kelly Rhoades as our new 4th grade teacher! Ms. Rhoades, who is from Tipp City, Ohio, received her teaching degree from Miami University in 2021. She has worked as an elementary support teacher and then transitioned into teaching high school students for the past three years. Ms. Rhoades, who attends Ethos Church, shared that volunteering in the children’s ministry at her church ignited her passion for teaching young kids about Jesus.
💙”I feel so grateful to step into the fourth-grade teaching role and join the NCS team,” she shared. “I believe the Lord has planted this desire to help train children in the faith and learn more about God’s love. It is my mission to serve these students in understanding more about God’s character and how to be a disciple of Jesus in this world. I’m really looking forward to integrating faith in education as students witness how academics have a purpose and are rooted in God’s truth. I’m so thankful to be entrusted to care for and encourage these fourth graders as they grow in their faith and education at Northside Christian!”

🪢 Before school let out, our 5th graders participated in a STEM activity with Middle School Math Teacher Mrs. Teri Crawford where they were given 2 bags and 12 inches of duct tape to create a jump rope. They had to do a quick commercial for their rope and then the class all voted on the one they would buy! What a creative project for the last few weeks of school!
