The 2025 Westerville North Boys Basketball Season will be one that we never forget! North Athletic Director Wes Elifritz said it so well at the Community Celebration—“This is one of the most skilled basketball teams you will ever see and it is one of the most unselfish basketball teams you will ever see”. Both made this 2024-25 campaign so very special!

The only unfortunate part of cutting down the nets at UD Arena is that it means that the season has come to a close. If you’re like us, you want more!

As we put the final touches on our coverage, we wanted to provide you with game-by-game recaps of each game in this magical run. We hope they provide another memory for you and your family that you will have for many years to come.

We have 1 more piece that we are working on that we think you will enjoy that should be available late next week. I’ll tease you with the fact that it might have a few “shining moments” for you to enjoy!

Remember you can listen to our coverage of the 2025 state championship game using the following link:

Every game that we covered this season is available for viewing free of charge as well.

*Head Coach Shan Trusley finishes his 12th season at the helm with a career record of 184-106 (63%). The 2023 Division 1 State Coach Of The Year has spent all 36 years of his coaching career at Westerville North, with the first 24 seasons as an assistant coach—totally unheard of in the coaching world! You can’t write a better script in 2025 and it couldn’t happen to a better man!

What we can’t put into words is how incredibly blessed we are to get to bring you North Athletics! Thank you to North AD Wes Elifritz! Thanks to Shan Trusley and his outstanding staff for treating us so well and for the excellence and humility with which they do things!

Thanks to the North players—12 of the finest young men we have encountered in 33 years of doing this!

Thanks to all of our sponsors who helped us have the resources to get these games on the air. We learned very quickly when we started the Westerville North Sports Network 11 years ago that there are a lot of people in Central Ohio that bleed Cardinal & Gold! We are incredibly grateful for their generous support!

And thanks to you THE FANS most of all for watching! There is no reason for a Westerville North Sports Network if there aren’t thousands of fans that love this school and this team! You are the reason we do what we do….thank you!!!!!!!

We can’t wait to do it again in 2025-26!!

GO WARRIORS!!!

Rick Cooper
