It’s BACK TO SCHOOL time for our BLC big kids! We are definitely going to miss having them around all day, but we are so excited to watch them grow, learn, and shine at WES!
Dear Heavenly Father,
Lord, watch over each of them as they start this new school year. Give them courage, kindness, wisdom, and confidence. Help them make good choices, be a light to others, and share the love of Jesus everywhere they go. Keep them safe, surround them with good friends and teachers, and remind them that they are loved by God and by their BLC family. In Jesus' name Amen

Today our little engineers explored the invisible force of AIR! We tested different objects using our breath, straws, and a fan to see what air could move. Then we put our learning to the test by building and flying paper airplanes! We experimented with different shapes and talked about how the shape of an airplane affects the way air moves around it. We may not be able to see air, but we can definitely see what it can do! God created an amazing world for us to explore and discover.

Today our little engineers had a problem to solve... I needed to get a bunch of paper clips out of a bin, but there was one catch...I couldn’t touch the bin! So the kids had to work together to build a simple machine using magnets. They discovered that magnets have an invisible force that can pull certain metals toward them, even when the magnet isn’t touching the object. They tested, problem solved, made adjustments, and figured out a way to rescue those paper clips! We also learned about Nehemiah and how he worked together with others to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem. He had a big job, but he didn’t do it alone. Our little engineers learned that today too... sometimes the best solutions happen when we work together. Just like we can’t see the magnetic force but can see what it does, we can’t see God, but we can see His work all around us. Jesus gives us wisdom, creativity, and people to work alongside as we solve the problems in front of us. A little science, a little Bible, a little teamwork... and a whole lot of paper clips!

We’re kicking off our Engineering & How Things Work week at BLC! Today we became little engineers and experimented with ramps, rolling, gravity, and what makes things move. The kids made predictions, tested their ideas, and discovered that sometimes your first idea doesn’t work exactly how you thought it would... and that’s okay! That’s how engineers learn! We also learned about the wise and foolish builders and how Jesus taught us that the foundation we build our lives on matters. We can build all kinds of things, but the most important thing we can build is our life on Jesus.
