Dear Friends,
Today, we enter our 16th year missing Stephanie.
On October 28, Jamaica took another huge hit from Hurricane Melissa. The island was ravaged by the storm. Dozens were killed and wind and flooding took down homes and we believe, at least two Steph’s Places. We are waiting to hear if the schools can be rebuilt. If the schools can be rebuilt, Steph’s Mission is positioned to help with the rebuild. Steph’s Mission continues to do meaningful work serving children on the local level with Comfort Kits and opportunities for summer camp.
This year Stephanie became the heavenly angel aunt for Jordana Lin Crispinelli born on May 14, 2025! We can’t help but think Stephanie is overjoyed with her two nephews (Cam & Luca) and another nephew on the way next spring …and her two nieces. Mila, in particular, who seems to share lots of Steph’s personality traits!! ( :
So today, as we pause together for a moment of silence at 4:53pm, let us mourn our lives without Stephanie. Let us remember the 250,000 others who perished in the Haiti earthquake. May we take the opportunity to ask God to heal the world from the effects of climate change and bring an end to poverty, hunger, oppression, hate and war. Let us praise God for all the blessings He brings our way every day. Let us take comfort in knowing God is in control of this crazy world and Steph is with Him…free from the worries and uncertainties of life and surrounded by love, peace and joy.
May peace, that surpasses all understanding, be upon Haiti and all the families and friends who lost loved ones in Haiti on this day, 16 years ago.
With love and heartfelt appreciation,
Stephanie’s family

Today marks 15 years since the Haiti Earthquake that took Steph and 250,000 others. We are so grateful for all that has been accomplished in Stephanie’s name.
Our 10 schools in Jamaica continue to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children. We continue to work closely with The Red Cross to provide “Comfort Kits” to displaced children around NY state.
Our current focus is providing assistance and support throughout our local community of Somers. We have provided meals to families and each year we provide scholarships to send local children to Summer camp. We also work with Somers high school students who are interested in giving back to others. We are so appreciative of the constant support we receive in our community.
Please join us for a moment of remembrance today at 4:53 EST.
Thank you for all of your support in helping us keep Stephanie’s spirit alive. 💙🦋

Dear Friends,
Please join us today, January 12th at 4:53 pm EST for a moment of remembrance and prayer.
Today, we enter our 14th year missing Stephanie.
Although the world is a mess, we can take comfort that God is in control and Steph is with Him, surrounded by heaven’s beauty…. and she is happy.
We are happy too. We celebrated the births of two more members of Steph’s family this year: Mason James (McFarland) Padilla, her cousin, once removed (6/22/2023) and her niece Mila Catherine Crispinelli (8/17/2023) with another Crispinelli nephew on the way (7/2024)! These babies and nephew Cameron are lucky to have such an awesome angel to watch over them.
Tomorrow, as we pause again for a moment of silence, let us mourn the loss of Stephanie and the 250,000 others who perished in the Haiti earthquake. But let us also praise God for all the blessings He brings our way every day. May we take the opportunity to ask God to heal the world and bring an end to poverty, hunger, oppression and the effects of climate change.
May peace, that surpasses all understanding, be upon Haiti and all the families and friends who lost loved ones in Haiti on this day, 14 years ago.
With love and heartfelt appreciation,
Stephanie’s family

Dear Friends,
Please join us today, January 12th at 4:53 pm EST for a moment of remembrance and prayer.
Another year has passed. The 2010 Haiti earthquake is barely remembered by the masses but for us the memory of it is more powerful than yesterday. We will always mourn the loss of Stephanie and 250,000 others.
Although the Jamaican government still has Covid restrictions and we are unable to travel to Jamaica to build schools, Steph’s Mission continues to serve the local children of Somers, Stephanie’s home town, with Comfort Kits and opportunities to go to summer camp.
Hopefully, restrictions will lift and we can return to Jamaica soon. In the meantime, please enjoy this wonderful video created by Steph’s cousin Linsey, after our 2015 trip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iJS1yRgPu4
Today, as we pause again for a moment of silence, let’s thank God for the impact Stephanie’s Mission has made over the past twelve years. May God’s blessing be on the millions of people throughout the world that suffer with poverty, unclean water, hunger and the effects of climate change.
And let us praise God for the many ways He provides for us and our families each and every day. May His peace, that surpasses all understanding, be upon Haiti and all the families and friends who lost loved ones in Haiti on this day, twelve years ago.
With love and heartfelt appreciation,
Stephanie’s family
