Last week Congin hosted an Art Night for families! There were book walks, murals, a directed painting, face painting from some talented high school artists, and more! This was a wonderful event, so thank you to all of those who attended, and thank you to Teacher Jones and Ms. Doherty for planning the event!

Our Congin Cougars have been hard at work reading! For every 5 books or 100 pages, students could fill out a Bikes for Books sheet to turn in for a chance to win a bike. We had 436 sheets turned in! Each grade level had 4 students that won a bike.

Thank you to the Saccarappa Masons Lodge for donating bikes for this annual event!

Today we rolled out our new theme for the school year, and it happens to be our last theme for the year: Aspirations and Following Our Cougar Code!

Throughout this year, we have focused on themes like cooperation, having a growth mindset, and having empathy, just to name a few. For this month, we will be looking for cougars who show all of the themes we have worked on this year, as well as having aspirations for being kind, responsible and respectful cougars. Students will be earning Rays of Sunshine to add to a sun around our school.

Our fourth grade College Knowledge Team went to the Westbrook Performing Arts Center today to compete against Canal School and Saccarappa School! Out of 7 teams, we placed 4th and 5th! Our students worked hard and enjoyed their time competing with others! Nice job, cougars!

Meet this Congin Cougar: Grace! Grace is a 2nd grader in Ms. Preston’s class and today he did the morning announcements with Mr. Bisson using his AAC device to communicate! We are so proud of him!

Ms. Doherty’s third grade cougars got to visit Mrs. Marden’s class as they celebrated the publishing of their writing! Our brave kindergarteners read aloud their pieces of writing as our third graders listened! Awesome work, Kindergarteners!
