Our “Growing Worms, Growing Garden” program brought learning to life as we explored how living things work together to grow and thrive. The children met real red wiggler worms (lots of curious looks and brave touches!), and used their imaginations to wiggle, tunnel, and “become” worms through dramatic play.

We talked about how these tiny garden helpers do big jobs—breaking down soil, helping plants grow, and keeping our garden healthy. It was hands-on, a little messy, and full of wonder… just the way we like it.

🌲✨ Woodland Adventure Day at Love & Laughter Daycare ✨🌲

Today we traded our play yard for a trail and headed out on a little forest adventure! 🍂

We walked the paths, crossed bridges, listened to the sounds of nature, and explored everything the woods had to offer. The children practiced staying together, taking turns, and helping one another along the way—while soaking up sunshine and fresh air. ☀️

There’s something special about learning outside… every stick becomes a discovery, every step builds confidence, and every moment turns into a memory. 💚

🎨 Color Monster Sensory Bin! 👾

Our new Color Monster sensory bin is ready for exploring at Love & Laughter Daycare!

Inspired by the story about the Color Monster and his mixed-up feelings, the children can dig, sort, and discover colorful pieces while talking about emotions. From happy yellow to calm blue and even grumpy red, every color helps us explore how we feel.

Sensory play like this builds:
✨ fine motor skills
✨ sorting and problem solving
✨ emotional awareness

Plus… it’s just plain fun to dig in and see what little treasures the Color Monster is hiding!

A tiny crew today at Love & Laughter Daycare, but we packed the day with sunshine and smiles ☀️

With a few friends out sick, our little group enjoyed a calm and cozy day together. We took advantage of the beautiful weather and headed out for a walk… and along the way we made a very exciting discovery — Olaf! ⛄❄️ The kids were thrilled to stop and say hello.

Back inside, the fun continued with some building and creative play. Small group days have their own kind of magic… more space to explore, lots of conversations, and plenty of time for imagination.

Sunshine, fresh air, and a surprise snowman visit made it a pretty great day! 🌞⛄🧱

Tiny crew, big adventure day at Love & Laughter Daycare ☀️

With a few friends home sick today, our little group enjoyed a quieter day together. The sunshine finally showed up and we took full advantage of it. Boots on, fresh air, and lots of exploring! We checked out the melting snow, practiced balancing along the curb, and even took a break in a little wooden “bus stop” hut.

Sometimes the best days are the simple ones… sunshine, space to explore, and a few good buddies to share it with. 🌤️🧡

Hope everyone who is feeling under the weather gets better soon. We miss you!

✨ Sensory + Snow Day Fun at Love & Laughter Daycare! ❄️🖐️🏃‍♂️

Today was the perfect mix of busy hands and busy feet!

Inside, our friends explored sensory bins filled with scoops, beads, textures, and tiny treasures, building fine motor skills, creativity, problem solving, and lots of focus (with a little giggling sprinkled in too 😄).

Then we bundled up and headed outside for some winter running fun! Nothing beats fresh air, movement, and letting those little legs GO! 🏃‍♀️❄️🌲

Sensory play helps children learn through touch, explore new materials, and strengthen coordination, while outdoor play supports gross motor development, confidence, and teamwork.

A full day of learning the fun way. 💙

Love & Laughter Daycare has officially reached 5 STARS in Maine’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (Rising Stars for ME) and my heart is so full.

This milestone represents years of dedication to quality, growth, reflection, and doing what’s best for children and families every single day. It reflects thoughtful teaching, intentional environments, strong relationships, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

I am incredibly proud of how far this program has come and grateful for the families who trust us, the support along the way, and the little learners who inspire everything we do.
